From the moment we walked in, Cedric, our waiter was personable, professional, yet fun! We had a leisurely and enjoyable New Year’s Eve meal and Cedric read our pace. He was always on queue when anything needed to be refilled and delivered our three courses in a perfectly timed manner. The food was truly outstanding! This rivals high-end restaurants in Quebec City, Montreal and Toronto. We would make a trip back just to come to this restaurant. And we will.

Best meal in recent memory!!! If you’re thinking about Faimfino you have to do it! The ambiance and service is great! The food is next level— highly recommend doing the table d’hôte menu it’s truly amazing with a great variety of choices!! You won’t be disappointed and as soon as you leave you’ll be planning your next visit. Pro tip: definitely get the French onion soup and one of your mains has got to include their fries )made fresh everyday!

Very nice place to have dinner. Lovely menu with a great variety. There were 4 of us and we all had something different but we all enjoyed our meals very much. Appies
were escargot and calamari and both were very tasty. Service was great!

I will NEVER attend Faimfino restaurant again. I just had a horrible experience there when I went with my colleagues for a holiday staff party. Our waiter, probably in his 20s (am not mentioning his name out of respect and privacy considerations), was rude to us from the start. We were not greeted with any smiles or introducing of himself. Instead it seemed from the beginning that we were an inconvenience. The evening got progressively worse. The waiter was annoyed that we could not hear what he was saying, so instead of going to each individual to offer pepper or cheese, he said it from the top of the table and that was it. When a colleague asked for some pepper he got annoyed and said “I already offered it to you and you didn’t say anything”. Well that would be because he was not heard. We had brought some gifts for exchange and had put them by the side of the wall at the back of the room. Instead of asking us to move them, he started kicking them, and our handbags as he went by. He did not communicate to us or ask us to move them (although there was nowhere else to put them) and just continued to kick them more aggressively. To top it off, when I called the owner a couple days later to discuss the aggressive and rude behaviour, the owner completely defended his waiter and could have cared less that we were all very disapointed with the service. Several colleagues of mine were so upset that they decided to leave minimal tip at the time. The owner complained that we were rude and that we didn’t leave a tip. This was obviously because the waiter had been so rude to us. Had the service been positive and respectful we would have tipped generously as we typically do. I had previously attended this restaurant with my family on other occasions but due to this bad service will never attend again. There are now 16 of us who are so upset by the rude service that we will never attend with our families and if you think we will ever encourage people to eat there again you’ve got another thing coming. Shame on the owner for not taking some ownership and for apologizing on behalf of the waiter. I cannot understand how a business owner absolutely does not care that his restaurant offered us such a bad experience. He did not wish to hear anything we had to say and in the end hung up saying that he was busy and had to go. Very disappointing. Never again.

We went to Faimfino many times while living in Lachute, for lunch and dinner.

The ambiance is great – it’s small and intimate, without tables being packed in too closely, or being too loud. The art changes regularly and keeps things fresh by constantly having something new and different to inspect.

The service is wonderful – though we’re appropriately biased, as we got to know the owners and staff quite well. The service was always attentive, spent lots of time talking, discussing, getting to know you, and would remember regulars.

And the food was always consistently great, and surprising. We had many interesting dishes here that we’ve never seen elsewhere. From simple but delicious soups, to desserts both amazing in presentation and taste.

Super awkward experience! We had a reservation for 4 persons this Saturday (2 adults, 2 kids) upon our arrival there was 2 little frogs on the table we was assigned and my son took one of them (it was the salt and pepper) and he accidently opened it and the pepper felt from the container. The owner came to us and 3 times told us that it was not a toy. The first time I responded that I was sorry that it was my 2 years old kid that accidentally opened it and the pepper fell. Then he repeated that it was not a toy then I answered ok I can pay for it again we are sorry. Then he repeated it again a third time. All this my husband had already cleaned the pepper and obviously took the froggies away from the kids. Anyways we decided to leave since it was so uncomfortable the owner taking to us loudly in front of all the other clients. On our way out another client of the restaurent shared me she had had a situation similar with the owner its too bad we where looking forward to try this place but a rude owner that makes a show for a pepper is not our vibe. Ive been there befor many times when it was different owners and i always felt super welcomed and excellent service.

Awful customer service from the waiter and owner 🙁

Unfortunately, the service we experienced at Faimfino was one of the worst experiences we’ve had at a restaurant. We were a big group in a more secluded area of the restaurant for a holiday party. From the moment we walked in, the waiter did not smile to us. We had some gift exchange bags and we were asked to place them on the floor which was not an issue. However, throughout the evening, the waiter was becoming more upset with the table because the far end of the table had difficulty hearing him speak (which is normal in a big group).
Since he was getting frustrated, he began aggressively kicking our purses and bags behind the table in an attempt to make room to serve us (our bags were along the wall and not in the way, it was on purpose). It was very disrespectful. Once he was asked to stop kicking our belongings, he replied rudely by commenting how upset he was that we asked him for parmasan when he previously offered some which no one heard.
The next week, we called the owner to inform him of this service and we got NO APOLOGY. He did not care that we experienced this service at his restaurant and was very disrespectful, and cutting us off while speaking. We were basically told that he doesn’t care about that we received awful service that night.

We are very disappointed with this experience and will not be returning to Faimfino.
