this is one of the best nigerian restaurants i’ve had ever in pittsburgh but oh my GOD the service sucks! i called the restaurant a couple months ago asking for assurance on a failed doordash order i made and i practically got yelled at! it’s insane! and they’re too far from me to even come to the restaurant so doordash is my only option and that hasn’t worked for six months

Absolutely DELICIOUS!! First time having FABS. I was feeling under the weather today and decided to order the pepper soup w/ goat and fufu. Let’s just say I’m not sick anymore. The soup was packed with so much flavor and perfect amount of spices. They are very generous with portion sizes, definitely will fill you up! I will definitely be coming back! Great job!!!

I’m from West Africa, Nigeria to be precise. Ever since I discovered them last year, I have eaten from there every month. Their portions are HUGE and good! Their portion last a while too, I eat big and I don’t even finish the portion size in one sitting! Its filling and very good! Their food is quite tasty! The best African Restaurant in Pittsburgh hands down. Its way better than the popular one in town! This is the best place to order from.

This is my first time trying African food. I don’t know what to expect, but based on what I was served, the first experience is excellent.
Jollof Rice is absolutely amazing! When I opened the lid of the container, its strong aroma got me in less than a second. It does not taste very spicy but there is a little kickoffs. The flavor is very rich. It also comes with fried plantains, which is chewy, flavorful, and delicious. For the meat, I choose fish; it’s slightly over cooked and has many bones inside. But the jollof rice itself overshadows any downsides coming from fish. Next time, I will try it with goat.
Beef Suya is also amazing! Grilled beef with various spices presents the pungent, alluring, and irresistible aroma and taste! It comes with sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions; these fresh veg help balance the inadequacy of moisture in beef.
Stew with okra is also rich in flavor. It tastes smooth, soft and sticky. The stew works very well with pounded yam.

we drive two hours just to bypass Other African cuisine restaurants specifically for their food. It’s fresh, hot, perfectly proportioned, an amazingly delicious!! Highly recommended to try!!

Wow, this is some of the best African food I have ever had! It is great for those who are a bit unfamiliar with the cuisine, too. They offer many soul food items and have a diverse menu, so you’ll surely find something that satisfies your tastebuds. I tried the puff puff, meat pie, jollof rice (side portion), and fried plantains. I initially ordered the Mac n cheese but they were out of it. Well, this was still an incredible meal.

The rice was flavorful, had a nice kick to it, but wasn’t too spicy (just a bit on the spicy side for me though). There was a taste of some turmeric in it as well. It was flavorful and a fantastic deal for $7!
The puff puffs were so good and you get 5 of them. They are almost like donuts, but honestly way better. Puff puffs are thick and chewy, which I really enjoyed. Perfect texture, perfect dusting of sugar, amazing price, great portion, and just overall delicious. Can’t go wrong with them.
The plantains were pretty good, too. I will say, I’ve had better plantains elsewhere, but still decent. They were flavorful and caramel used well. The pieces were somewhat small, though, and some of them were hardened (almost unripe).
The meat pie was absolutely delicious. They pack it stuffed with juicy beef and little bits of vegetables. The crust is perfect, too: great texture, a bit buttery, not too doughy, and great flavor as well. This meat pie is huge! One of the largest of this type of pie I’ve seen anywhere. And it’s so delicious, you must try it.
All in all, I am very, very pleasantly surprised with Fabs Restaurant. They make amazing African food, maybe the best in the city. I loved the puff puff and meat pie especially, although everything was tasty. Amazing prices for portions. Check this place out for delicious soul and African food!

Fab’s did not disappoint. The food was so flavorful. The Efo Riro was a wonderfully savory stew, the jollof has the perfect spice and the Puff Puff was the perfect dessert! Can’t wait to order from here again.
