This is Heaven in New Haven. Extraordinary taste that feels just like home. If you are in the area it is a MUST place to stop and get some authentic delicious puertorican food. You will love it!

Pit stop in New Haven Ct. For lunch. Found this great place to eat. Food was great, outdoor seating, weather was nice and all. I look for places like this on my motorcycle road trips. You won’t be disappointed if you go here trust me. I forget the name of this dish but its like a lasagna made with plantains.

I ordered the mofongo and it was very buttery (I would press down and a lot of butter would come out). I couldn’t really appreciate the flavor of the monfongo because the butter taste was very overwhelming. The chicken that came with it was delicious. The service was very nice, it’s a very cute place.

The place and the service were very very good and that is the reason why this review is 4 stars and not less; unfortunately the food was very disappointing to our party of 3. We had the tripleta sandwiches and the papa locas and they were just not up to par. If the food betters this place can be a 5 star spot! The decorations and place have character and you can tell there is plenty of love put into it. I hope to update my review in the future with a 5 star review if the food gets better.

PR vibes inside. Food was mid-I wanted it to be better. Got mofongo but it was a weird looking. greasy, bland, ball shaped situation. Pernil was lacking sabor and carne de cerda frita cooked too hard to chew. But their pastries, all things guayaba were on point, quesitos, pastelillos, tornillos. Alcapurria was very good too. Prices don’t match the taste of the food, when you pay more you expect more. I would come back for their pastries.

I can’t believe I had to come all the way to New Haven to get good Puerto Rican food.
I got a recommendation to try this place out. I’m glad I did. It has a complete PR feel. The owner greeted me as I came through the door. Everything looked amazing. I just hope it tastes as it looks.
There are so many choices. Everything is fresh and made to order, pretty much. I ordered the rice and beans and Carne Frita.
This place just happened, he told me. He had been coming here since he was a young man. They left the island and ended up here for good. He decided to open up a restaurant with his wife. This place is authentic. The meals are mix and match. Anyway you want them. People came in asking for different combinations, and there was never an issue. You want beans on the rice and gandules? OK. Whatever you want, they will try and serve. The prices are awesome for the amount of food they give you.
For dessert, I got a quesito. It brought me right back to the islands. The whole meal was excellent. The service is outstanding. The whole place gives you a feel of the islands. Everybody who came in while I was there seemed excited to order and eat. I loved it so much that I came back the next morning for coffee and a pastry.
I recommend.

I stopped at the New Haven food truck location and ordered Mofongo with Carne frita . The meat was good but the Mofongo was some how mixed with an exessive amount with corn meal. It taste nothing like Mofongo at all. Very disappointed.

My first time here , I ate from his truck before. I know everywhere is getting expensive but when you pay $55 for a plate and sandwich, your expectations are high. Well Fabi you really dropped the ball here. Mofongo was a little dry ,shrimp was ok and the octopus tasted bland, all I tasted was peppers and onions. The Beefstrami was on point and so was the service.

Here on a quick vacation. We were looking for a Truly puertorrican restaurant and we found it here. Service was great and attentive. Food quality was also very good. We tried the alcapurrias and jamon, queso & huevo sandwich that were both nice. Definitely coming back before we get back home.
