I rarely leave reviews, but this place earned it. The entire experience was a disaster from start to finish. The food came out cold, bland, and looking nothing like what was advertised. It honestly seemed like it had been sitting out for a while before it was served. The service wasn’t any better—our server acted annoyed every time we asked for something as basic as silverware or a drink refill, and the wait times were ridiculous considering how empty the restaurant was.

To make things worse, the place wasn’t clean. Tables were sticky, floors looked like they hadn’t been swept all day, and the overall atmosphere was just unpleasant. For the prices they charge, I expected at least decent quality, but it was nowhere close.

Save yourself the disappointment and go literally anywhere else. This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

Had my very first Somali cuisine experience here! My colleagues and I loved this place. The local/authentic vibe was fantastic and the owner was super nice. I had Sambusa (one of the best) and Injera with squaar. Good portion. As someone with braces, I especially enjoyed the thin, crepe-like Injera. Don’t let the exterior fool you—there’s more to this place than meets the eye! Once you taste the food, you’ll be blown away

I had a very disappointing experience at Faanfan Restaurant. The food was extremely poor in quality, and nothing tasted fresh. On top of that, the workers did not show any respect toward customers. Their attitude felt rude and dismissive the entire time. The customer service was also terrible

Yummy food. We had goat & rice plus we tried Key Key which was Somali crepes cut up with onions and peppers.

This is a Somali restaurant that focuses on serving the local Somali population… and some of us who are able to get past the challenges of doing business with them.

They offer a number of Somali dishes from a picture menu with names, prices (low), and pictures. We walked in and saw a bunch of Somali watching soccer… recordings of international games on YouTube.

It was clearly a local hangout. We walked over to the guy at the cash register and asked questions. He didn’t seem to speak English and had very little to say that helped us understand what was in the various dishes. It was frustrating, as we were hoping to more meaningfully engage.

I ended up ordering the Chicken Curry, because I could identify the name. It didn’t resemble any curry I’ve had before, though it had a tomato flavor with onions and peppers along with the 3 chicken drumsticks. It was okay, but not interesting at all. It came with some cut lettuce and two fried breads.

I really really enjoyed this place. They have what I believe to be the best sambusas I have ever eaten. Granted my sample size is only about seven or eight different types of sambusa but these guys were amazing. So much meat so much delicious flavor.

The meals we ordered were also very very good. I would highly recommend this. Curiously enough they did not allow me to tip.

Went with my mother and daughter. Order number 1 and 2 (don’t know names) and chicken sandwich(don’t know number). Portions were good and taste was even better. Staff was friendly, and the place was clean (but definitely dated). I would highly recommend you check it out you will not be disappointed.

Food was fantastic and super reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and gave suggestions since we had never had Somali food before. It’s so hard to find anything besides burgers and pasta in the area this place was a gem.

Good Somali food in the middle of MN. Seemed authentic, many Somalis were eating there. I didn’t know what anything was and the guy taking orders was not helpful so I randomly chose 3 dishes for my family, all were very tasty.

I have never had Somali food before and even though they said the Sambuca’s were spicy, I tried them anyway and happy that I did. No where’s close to as spicy as I thought they would be and very flavorful! I’m sorry I only got two of them. Thanks for your kind response and help.
