The tradition of Ezell’s Catfish cabin started in the 1930’s with a restaurant on the Tombigbee River in Alabama. The tradition continued with the founding of the Columbus, GA restaurant in 1982 and the Phenix City, AL restaurant in 2011. In the 35+ years since its opening, the Columbus restaurant has become a landmark with its reputation for quality, fresh southern comfort food served in a casual atmosphere with exceptional service. The Phenix city restaurant maintains that tradition and to this day is the only family operated full service restaurant in Phenix City. The attention to detail and quality required by current owners Clark and Collier Ezell has resulted in numerous awards and recognition from noted rating agencies.

It’s an old school restaurant and I liked it.
I ordered the fried green tomatoes and crispy yet juicy. The hush puppies were crispy and yet still soft soft. The snapper was cooked nicely, as well as the fried okra.

Lunch menu…food was seasoning just right. We will be back. Waitress was attentive and was seated with a minute. Outside patio and complimentary hushpuppies and coleslaw.

We always love to eat at Ezells. We make a special trip every time we go into Georgia for holidays to stop by and eat. Always the best food. The bathroom floors are starting to get sticky and look dirty the building is old and seems could use a good cleaning but the food really is amazing and it’s not dirty just old building and sticky floors bathroom was overall clean.

I forgot how good their food was. It’s been over 30 years since I ate at Ezells. Their food still taste the same. I have to stop myself from eating all of the coleslaw or I won’t have room for my other food.

The food and service were good except the shrimp should have been cleaned before serving and the onion rings fried a little longer. The restaurant could use a good scrubbing. The grilled catfish was excellent.

My wife and I treated her parents, for their birthdays, to a great meal. Our server, Brianna (#23), was super. Friendly, attentive, and comfortable. The manager/cook was great. My Calabash and Blackened Fish was delicious.

Food cooked and served hot. Ordered fried catfish with baked potato. Hush puppies and slaw very tasty. Restaurant was almost empty. Besides me, their was only one other family of 3 close by. Could have been that I arrived at 7:40pm, (and the restaurant closes at 9pm), nonetheless, that was the crowd count. Waitress didn’t take long to serve me, and food was great. This use to be my go to spot prior to 2020, and the restaurant had been full of patrons. Not sure what changed or if I’d eaten out here during a less busy time. Overall, I’d return again, but I always keep an eye out when booming restaurants are no longer filled with patrons.

The service was excellent, fast and friendly! I could tell my server knew what she was doing and took very good care of me from start to finish. I had the fried shrimp (it was called something else in the menu) coleslaw and hush puppies. The food was served hot and fresh and was sooo delicious! This was my first time eating here and I can say I will definitely be back!

I ordered for carry out on my way to work yesterday. This was my first time eating at this local establishment. I ordered the Hamburger steak, collard greens and it came with hush puppies. I not only loved every bite of the food but also love the decore!! If you are like me and often pressed for time and tired of fast food this place is a must. They offer eat in or carry out and the full menus is available on Google.
