I wouldn’t get the short rib again, something about the stew was a little out of place for me. But instead I’d order two servings of the lamb chops next time, they were that good.
Would absolutely come back, loves this experience.
The kabob koobideh is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned every single time. But the lamb ribs… I mean, so soooo good it’s actually insane. Fall-off-the-bone, smoky, rich, unreal — I think about them after I leave. And the barbari bread comes out warm and fresh, soft on the inside with just the right crisp on the outside.
They have a seasonal shirazi salad that’s literally out of this world. Genuinely the best salad I’ve ever had in my entire life. The dressing is this rich minty lemon flavor.
If you go to Eyval, those are mandatory. No discussion.
Persian food.
The restaurant is open and airy and is much bigger than you realize. There are three separate dining areas to it.
There were 3 of us and we definitely over ordered but wanted to try different dishes.
See the photos. We had some serious leftovers.
The cocktails are unique in flavor and easy to drink.
Our waiter was very sweet and thoroughly explained the dishes and guided us on what to order. The entire staff was very personable every time they came to the table, either to bring food or clear the table.
Unbelievable flavors in these well curated dishes!

We ordered the Barbare bread with masto moosir, the octopus kebab, the kashkeh bademjoon, and the kebab — every single dish was incredible. The flavors were authentic yet elevated, enhancing traditional Persian spices beautifully.
This was hands down one of the best Persian meals I’ve ever had outside of someone’s home. 10/10 — if you haven’t tried it yet, you need to. Absolutely amazing! I will deff be going back here when I come to New York again
I was recommended to come here by my husband, who is a tad obsessed with it, and now I can see why! Nothing better than seeing a thriving spot take food, dishes, ingredients, service and buzz so seriously.
The menu is varied and full of surprises, and not all dishes will work for all the pallettes at the table, and that is what makes it fun. You share everything and try lots of culinary ideas and see what sticks!
The kitchen was fast and the food was excellent. The ghorme sabzi had deep flavor and tender meat. The tahdig was golden and crisp, and the kabob was juicy and well seasoned with saffron rice and grilled tomatoes.
The servers, however, weren’t very attentive. Drinks sat empty for a while, and it took some effort to get their attention. For two people, the total was about $120, which felt fair for the quality.
Overall, Eyval delivers top Persian food and a great vibe, but the service could be more engaged to match the kitchen’s pace.
The squash spread and the eggplant dish were out of this world
Loved the Persian cocktail too. Service was fast and staff very nice.
Spot super recommended!
