Walk downtown D.C. and you’ll find locally owned spots like Eye Street Grill open Monday-Friday for breakfast and lunch to cater to the downtown workforce. This particular one is beloved. The owners worked in D.C. restaurants making sandwiches until they saved enough money to open their own spot in 2000. 26 years later, it’s still going strong. Open at 6:40am, they have a hot breakfast bar, breakfast sandwiches, and drop coffee. For lunch, the hot bar turns over and the grill in the back makes sandwiches like a steak and cheese, which was my order. Full of flavor, it hit the spot! Inside, there’s plenty of tables to enjoy your food. In the back are several unisex restrooms.

My coworker and I were looking for a sandwich and found this spot. We had no idea it was an Asian place but the food was so good. I had a chicken steak sandwich which was hot meal with some honey sriracha chips I have never tried and a cherry lemonade. It was under $20 and I was very pleased. We sat out front to enjoy the refreshing weather. It started to rain but the table had an umbrella so we were fine. I would go back and try the other food or even another sandwich!

If you like overpriced, soggy general tsos chicken, dried out pork ribs and flavorless fried rice and lo mein then this is your place. Otherwise take your money to Panda Express or other valuable and delicious lunch spots nearby.

Pricey but my salad was so good. Pretty good ingredients available. Everything is weighed on a scale which came to be expensive for a salad.

This restaurant has terrific food! It is buffet style but not like an all you can eat. Keep in mind that they weigh your food at the checkout and that’s how payment is determined. They also serve hot and cold sandwiches at set prices. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. It was delicious!

The food on the breakfast bar was excellent! The price was really reasonable for the amount of food (price by weight) and the quality. It’s one of the only places I’ve ever been to where the fruit was actually fresh and ripe! The restaurant looked clean and the staff were kind.

Overall, I would definitely come here again next time I’m in the area!

Really good! I had the hot and cold bar. Everything I ate was very tasty and nice quality. General Tso’s chicken, chicken with broccoli, fried rice, crab salad, and kale salad.

The service was quick and efficient, friendly, and nothing on the bar was lacking or languishing and getting old.

I work right around the corner from Eye Street Grill and come pretty regularly; it’s a great option for the days you don’t bring lunch from home.

The food is good quality, especially for the price. You can find a little bit of everything here, from the hot bar that serves American Chinese food to the salad bar to the deli. The hot bar and salad bar items are priced by weight, while items like sandwiches have flat prices. As I said before, the prices are all reasonable.

I also like the staff. The owners behind the counter are always very friendly and run a tight ship. I’ve always been happy with the efficiency!

Overall, a very good option if you’re looking for a place while on your lunch break.

I stopped off for coffee and ended up having a really good lunch instead. The Asian buffet has so many good choices and you can get exactly what you want and pay by weight. My lunch, including a large lemonade, was $17.48. Nice people, casual no-frills atmosphere.

A restaurant run by a Korean owner. The price varies depending on the amount of food you choose. You can choose foods such as vegetables, fruits, meat, and noodles according to your taste. The owner is very kind. I want to go there again.
