I grew up two miles from Expressway and shockingly I’ve never been here. My friend and I visited the other day. I ordered pit turkey sandwich with cheese and mayo and side order of Mac n cheese. My friend ordered the pit beef sandwich and side order of honey old bay wings. Both sandwiches were just okay and both rated 6/10…which was a bit disappointing. And the Mac n cheese has a weird taste and was not good at all 1/10. However, the wings were very good and friend rated 10/10. Prices were very fair and employee was nice guy, no complaints there. However, the length it took to get our food (20+ minutes) felt way too long, especially since there was 1 person ordered ahead of us. Come to find out wings are made to order and can take up to 20 minutes…had we known I would’ve asked for the other food and get wings to go. We may be back to try something else but may call ahead of time to reduce wait time.

The wings take longer, but are made-to-order (call ahead if you don’t like waiting). We usually get the Honey Old Bay sauce, but the buffalo is fantastic as well.
For the beef: Plenty of toppings available, to include hot sauce, horseradish, mustard, etc.
Fries are boardwalk style, and totally legit. We love any excuse to come to expressway. They do fried turkeys for thanksgiving too!

This is an excellent place to get real pit beef! Good prices, large sandwiches and they allow you to make it your way, no extra charge for normal toppings. Their sides are fantastic. Real fries and baked beans. Why anyone would go to Five Guys with this place around is beyond me.
They have outdoor seating which we have used when driving or as a stop near the bike trail.

I got fries and the pit beef sandwich. The sandwich is really bad. Dry, cold, flavorless, honestly, everything a sandwich shouldn’t be. And I have so much of it left. I really wouldn’t recommend. I don’t know if this is an off day for them, but it really wasn’t good. And I tried a couple of bites and I just couldn’t do it

We really wanted to like this bbq spot. It wasn’t good , the only side that was good were the corn nuggets. The pit beef sandwich had no sauce and meat was dry . The ribs were tough and chewy like . The bbq sauce made them appear like they were going to be delicious but totally opposite. The sides tasted like grocery store quality like the macaroni salad. Mac and cheese was ok . The meat was the most disappointing and its a meat place. I would not recommend. The young man was friendly at the register.

Been going for years now and is delicious every time! Always friendly service. Definitely a diamond in the rough. Haven’t tried everything on the menu as I am a picky eater, but everything I have tried is either excellent or surprisingly good. Absolute favorite is the Pit Beef sandwich and fries. I usually add their BBQ sauce that is available on their counter myself so I can layer it on rather than ask them to put it on the sandwich. Always reasonably priced for my frugal sensibility. I had them cater my League Banquet recently and everyone kept asking from where I got the catering. They loved it! Plus, was significantly less expensive than the usual option my Club uses as their go-to which really saved my budget. Help support a family owned business. Try it! It’s yummy!

Catered a small family get together with Expressway Pitbeef. Wonderful experience during ordering and pick up. The pit beef, pulled pork and pulled beef were great and the sides delicious. No one left hungry, in fact some took leftovers. Give Expressway Pitbeef a try. I’m glad we did.

We ordered a turkey for Thanksgiving. Picked it up at the last pick up 3:00. The turkey was dry and overcooked. When I called in the manager April told me that they cooked 320 turkeys and nobody complained. Thanks for letting her know. We’ve had them in the past with no issue. In my opinion April was rude and not a bit sorry. My money’s good anywhere and I don’t need to spend it there anymore.

Stopped by today for the first time and got a well done pit beef sandwich and sweet tea. The tea was perfect. The pit beef was perfect. I couldn’t wait to get home so I took a bite in the parking lot and it was good. But see I’m a big back, took that thing home, warmed up some French onion soup and made some mashed potatoes. Used the soup to dip and topped my mashed potatoes with it. The perfect meal, big back approved!
