Unpretentious neighborhood nook whipping up everyday American provisions for breakfast & lunch.

Do not sleep on this place, express cafe moves like prime Michael Jordan or Lebron James.
It DOESN’T matter what you order from here, they literally do not miss, from the crispiest yet fluffiest waffles I’ve ever had, to a traditional biscuit and gravy, they serve every dish with a type of love your grandmother handed down when she’d cook for you.
And when I say the foods good, the people handling the food are no exception either, some of the finest staff I’ve met, they listen and take the time to make sure your order, is yours.
If your stomach yearns for a breakfast dreamt in dreams, and you wish to sate that hunger, come on down to express cafe, where dreams meet reality.

We really need to go back as a group again. Jammed into a couple tables, all thirteen of us loved this place. It’s a small coffee, breakfast and lunch cafe with the old style “u” shaped counter, hard surface booths, lots of white paint on the walls, servers that move between the tables so fast – taking orders, dropping off beverages and food, condiments, and then picking it all up, cleaning the surfaces and starting all over again. Pricing is very reasonable, especially for the size of the portions. Putting it altogether, that’s why the parking lot, especially on weekends and morning time is usually full. No photos of the Taco Omelet and Everything Omelet, those were dug into before I could capture. Sure looked filling. Really liked how crispy the country potatoes and fries were, and a clean oil taste, even for the fish and chips and chicken strips. Decent biscuits and gravy. Just a solid place for breakfast.

Hubby went to have breakfast with his dad and brother and asked if I wanted anything. I said sure, looked at the menu online and sent him a text saying I wanted a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich with a side of gravy. He said that’s what he ordered. He brought home a egg and cheese sandwich. Bad on him for not checking before he left but he shouldn’t have had to.

Hands down the best breakfast place in the Valley!! I absolutely love their cinnamon roll French toast. It will always be my go to but seriously everything they have is amazing! They also have a very delicious lunch menu.

It was a little more expensive than my usual breakfast spot but then the meal came big portions and best Chicken fried steak I have had in a long time. Waitress was great and cute. They also have a drive thru if I’m feeling lazy. Can’t wait to go back.
Been back and just as good as last time. ❤ this place
Still a great place and yes that’s the small blueberry pancake Always happy here.

Don’t really understand the hype behind this place. This was my first time here, I really wanted to like it based off the 5 star reviews, but I’m just not feeling it. The outside appearance looks dated, mostly artificial lighting vs natural light (gives you that school cafeteria type of feel) & somewhat cramped. Being such a small & tight space it gets loud, especially when you have 4 kids running around and randomly screaming behind you… That’s not the fault of the restaurant, but I felt like I was sitting at the Seahawks stadium with the whole “12th man” factor.
Anyways, the service was friendly, but we had about 3-4 people come up to us, whether it was taking orders for drinks, food, delivering food, and checking back on us. When it was time to ask for the bill I wasn’t sure who to stop and ask.
The food was pretty good, just lacked a little extra flavor. I’m just being honest, there are better breakfast options in the nearby location. Maybe I’m not impressed as much as the others since I didn’t eat here while growing up in the area, or maybe I just need to give this another shot and hope it’s not as busy / loud as the last time.
Overall, light 3. Definitely not the worst place I’ve had breakfast, but certainly not the 5 star experience like everyone previously mentioned.

We’ve struggled to find a good proper chicken fried steak in Boise. Express cafe delivered! Fantastic chicken fried steak. Crispy, flavorful, and so perfect,
The pancakes were the size of my face! And fluffy perfection! So great.
The strange underdogs? Their country potatoes! Look like bare disappointments. But no! They’re amazing! Fluffy little bites of joy.
Great place! My compliments to the chef!

I’ve passed this place a hundred times
And always wondered how
The food might taste or what it costs
So I am here to tell you now.
The price was low and portions high
The service was the best
My time here was a pleasure
Thanks to our kind waitress.
Our breakfast hot and tasty too
It was among the best
We filled our stomachs and packed the rest.
A healthy tip was surely due.
So if you’re ever hungry and it’s early in the day,
Then take a little trip…

Great place for a breakfast like Mom used to make. The service was friendly and the menu read like a place from Texas! Real middle America comfort food. I had (naturally) eggs and biscuit / gravy. My wife had a very good omelet. This is a must on a morning you want that special breakfast!

We went for breakfast today at the Express Cafe. The restaurant was good size with lots of setting. Also, the restaurant was very clean. The staff are kind and caring. The food was good. I had the pancake combo. The pancake was huge covering the entire plate. We will definitely come back.
