What a pleasant surprise! Driving around looking for somewhere that serves more than toasted sandwiches for lunch, we stumbled across Exotica. Entering, it has many small rooms that each seem to have their own warmth and reason to be. The one closest to a sit down meal, overlooking the street was welcoming, as were the two marvellous waitresses. The menu was pretty long and interesting and so as an overview we chose the ‘Complete Arab Platter’ which we shared between three, rather than two, and still all came away more than satisfied. While recognisably Arabic in style and texture, there was a noticeable absence of spices and in the quantities expected. The kofta were pretty bland. However, the falafel was an interesting take made with cracked bulgur, as it appeared to me. The warak dawale was strangely named ‘Niños Envueltos’ though tasty, and the samosas were more than acceptable. All this was accompanied by a yogurt sauce, baba ghanoush, hummus and pita.
An even greater surprise were the homebrew beers on sale which were truly amazing. All in all, a great place to visit, and I look forward to even more of their treats. San Luis could do with more restaurants of this calibre.

Fui un viernes a la noche.
La la comida estaba muy bien. Pedimos shawarma y picada del mundo. No tenían falafel, lo que me parece extraño ya que su fuerte es la comida árabe.
Pedimos una jarra de cerveza de una variedad y no tenían. Pedimos una alternativa y no estaba fría y tenía nulo gas.
Hacia mucho calor y pedimos prender el aire y no pudieron hacerlo.
