The restaurant ambience is really nice. The designers and the staff works really hard to ensure that they keep the place nice and tidy to reflect the theme.
Occasional live music…
Food is always served fresh and hot. Some of our guests had dietary restrictions and the staff was able to accommodate all the requests.
Highly recommended

Went for dinner recently; 4 in our party. We had a reservation but it wasnt needed since there was plenty of open tables available. Had a good selection of cocktails/mocktails, beer and wine. Went with the Honey Pear Margarita. The server didnt ask Abby anything on the rim and I didnt ask so it unfortunately came with a salted rim which seemed out of place for a pear based margarita in my opinion. For appetizers we got the Punjabi samosa and the chilly cauliflower florets. Each was fine but nothing out of the ordinary. For my entree I got the chicken tikka masala usually my absolute favorite. Here, however, it was just ok. The sauce wasnt very creamy compared to others Ive had elsewhere and the chicken wasnt the best quality. Another in our group got the biryani with a lamb shank. He said the lamb was good and very tender but the amount of rice was way too much even for a briyani. It was in essence a lamb shank sitting on top of a huge bowl of rice. The garlic naan was excellent. The restaurant has a bar and indoor seating. It was really cold inside and I ate with my coat on. The interior is kind of a bit of this and that and mismatched. Overall the food and experience was ok but Ive definitely had better.

Visited Exotica at their start of dinner service on a Wednesday. No wait and laid back. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was exceptional. I’ve never had Shamsavera, but if there is someone out there some how making it better than this you’d fall out of your chair. The flavor was excellent. I just wish there were more dumplings. The bread was great as were the apps. A bit pricey for the amount of food, but being in the center of the city you kind of know what you’re getting yourself into.

We ordered :
1.butter chic wings : very bad , no taste just chicken and flavourless-tasteless red curry.
2. Anjeer kofta : just cashew paste gravy and sweet kofta balls…
3. rosemary naan and 4.garlic cilantro naan : were very thick , hard and chewy .. I just hated all the 4 items

Great food. My wife and I went for dinner on a Friday evening and really enjoyed all our food. We got Samosas for an appetizer, I got butter chicken, and she got one of the Kofta dishes. We got 2 orders of naan which was a lot. We got them medium and probably could’ve gone up a spice level but we enjoy spice. If you like to dabble in spice then I would recommend keeping it to medium. They leave a jar of water on the table which I always appreciate because I drink a lot of water. Friendly staff. For being a Friday evening it wasn’t crowded and we got seated right away, but it was late afternoon/early evening.

After getting stuck in Charlotte during a layover, I decided to veg out and stay in my hotel for the day and order food in from Exotica. I was not feeling well so my appetite was through the roof – leading me to order a ton of food for myself. Everything was more than satisfactory in filling me up for a few days and they had plenty of vegan options on their menu.

First time here, it was highly recommended by friends that are familiar with Indian food. I’m not very familiar with the cuisine, but I love all the spices and aromas of it. Speaking of aromas, when we got close to the restaurant, you could smell all the yummy food being cooked from the street. The restaurant is dim and nicely decorated, great for a date night. We sat at the bar, because we like to have conversations with other people. Our server, Damu helped us make great selections on the menu. We did sharable appetizers. The portions were perfect for us. I also got the pomegranate old fashion, that tasted good and beautiful presentation. We will definitely be back to try more things on the menu.

Date day with my wife. We had been looking for good indian food since we moved down to Charlotte from the DMV (shout out to Indish back home).
Atmosphere- seemed really nice. Slightly more upscale. The stage with tv kinda threw us off but we figured that must be for dinner time with music. Speaking of music, it was kinda loud. Hard to hear my date unless we both spoke up.
Food- Not pictured are the Punjabi samosas and chai. Food was very good. We loved the taste. The biryani I had, had a chicken quarter bones and all which I enjoyed because it added to flavor and kept chicken moist. My wife ordered Tika masala which was also delicious. The naan bread was very hot, plentiful, and delicious as well. A tad on the pricey side but it was uptown, so I think its fine.
Service- very attentive service.
