Loved the food here! Vegetable Samosas were fresh and very tasty. My wife loved her Lamb Rogan Josh medium! She did say for medium it was a bit too spicy so when she had it for leftovers the next day I added some honey to help. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala medium and it was a perfect spice level for me and also very good. For some reason the service was very slow even though we were the only dine ins. Also the waters tasted like they had leftover disinfectant in it or on the glasses. Overall I would definitely recommend this place. Very tasty and good prices. Oh and the Garlic Naan was great!

The restaurant had a variety of dishes. All items we ordered tasted great. The biriani and butter chicken were great, same for the Punjabi chicken and grilled tikka (best dish we had). The portions were on the larger side.
Our server was friendly and got all of our orders correct

I don’t normally go out of my food circle but I tried Exotic India for the first time, ordered the Exotic curry with chicken, ate mine and forgot to take pictures before, but my partner had Exotic curry too with fish, and a mango lassi with one order of masala chai. Perfect combination, my soul cried tears, no exaggerating. I felt so warm and like I was being hugged with this food and all the flavors my tounge felt. 5/5 stars for me. Definitely coming again.
Edit: Came back again and ordered the same thing but the mango lassi, this time I took photos before

The dining in experience was great. We arrived at 5PM, right when they opened and our server was fantastic! We had the complimentary chickpea ‘bread’, vegetable pakora, butter chicken, 2 naans, tandoori half chicken, and the complimentary dessert drink (mango lassi maybe?). It was all so flavorful and provided enough leftover for another dinner. I highly recommend this place.

Love, love, love! Best Indian in Iowa City area, hands down. They recently moved, but I’ll follow them anywhere – and their new space is better than previous. Cannot recommend enough.

Excellent food, service, and decor. Easy parking right out front. Their menu and our server made it easy to order vegan food. We’ll be going here again for sure!

Surprising level of rude. When I lived in Coralville, this was my favorite restaurant. When I would return, I always made a point to stop there (previous location and ownership). Yesterday, having an appointment in Iowa City, we made sure to squeeze in a visit. Their website states they are open until 2:30. We got there at 1:50, hoping they still (or again) offered buffet, so we could be in and out and back on the road. We’ll, no customers were seated. A guy at the “service” desk said “Dining in?” I said yes, and glanced around at the new, empty restaurant to see if there was a buffet. The guy was silent. I had expected him to seat us or invite us to sit down or to say SOMETHING but he was awkwardly silent so I said “Two please?” And he said “We are closed” I looked at the time and was confused. He said “Take out only…No more dine-in…We close 2:30.” Maybe their website should explain this? Since we were traveling, we didn’t have anywhere to “take out” to so we had no choice but to leave and find somewhere else to go. While we were standing outside, figuring out where to go, a couple of customers came by who were picking up their take-out order. They told us the food was really good so we should try it. We told them what happened and that we were told we couldn’t eat there, so the couple (also surprised) directed us to another Indian restaurant downtown Iowa City (which I also remembered and loved). I don’t doubt the food would have been good at Exotic India. It smelled good. It used to be my favorite, and the other staff were so hospitable back then. I won’t try to go again. I was taught never to go where you are not welcome. So we brushed the dust off of our sandals and left.
