The fish and chips were the best I’ve ever had – perfectly cooked fish and potatoes, with a delicious green sauce that made it unforgettable.
The octopus salad and pani puri were excellent, very unique and flavorful. The salmon with stuffing and caviar was not only delicious but beautifully presented. We also tried the branzino and steak – everything was cooked perfectly. Drinks were great too, especially the lavender cocktail and the one with Prosecco.
Huge compliments to Chef Vanya, thanks to manager Natalie, and special thanks to our waitress Vika for the wonderful service. We’ll definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It has parking.. Right across the Regal cinema on Knapp Street.
The interior design is very beautiful, biker theme fusion, comfortable seating.
And most importantly great foods
Chef Ivan did amazing job, every single dish was delicious starting with appetizers and finishing with dessert .
Everything was fresh , flavorful.
Our waiter, Nargiza, was also amazing, very attentive, friendly and polite.
Prizes are reasonable as well.
So we will definitely return.
The only thing is – we didn’t get a printed check.
I always like to look at the actual receipt, as sometimes there might be errors or some other charges .
The black angus beef tartare is the best tartare I’ve ever had. I’ve known this place for a long time through the motorcycle community—the vibe is very much bike culture, which makes it even better
Even though it’s winter and no riding, it’s still the perfect spot for great meat
The Wagyu ribeye (ordered medium) was perfectly cooked and literally melted in my mouth
The solyanka was also very good, not heavy or greasy
Also, our waiter was so kind and attentive, pretty sure her name was Anna
Second time here, and I’ll definitely be back
I’ve supported Exit 9 since the day it opened, brought friends, promoted it to my 6K audience, and genuinely wanted this place to succeed, but what happened on March 7th was unacceptable.
My 6 PM reservation was given away despite calling at 6:20, and we were seated at the most uncomfortable table in the walkway. Only then were we told we must leave by 9:20 PM, even though the restaurant never discloses any time limit on the website, during reservation, or at the door. Menu transparency is also an issue: “Parmesan Truffle Fries” contain no truffles, only truffle oil.
The “American Wagyu Flank” was absolutely not Wagyu, and I say this as someone who has eaten Wagyu in every reputable NYC restaurant (Cote, Zuma, Old Homestead, etc.) and around the world, including multiple places in Tokyo. What we received had no marbling, no flavor, no freshness, and was served with potatoes drowned in mayo. Exit 9 COULD NOT provide a Wagyu certificate, which every reputable NYC restaurant offers immediately, because this was not Wagyu. I am attaching a photo so guests can see for themselves.
Service and sanitation were equally concerning: servers picked up cloth napkins from the floor and placed them back on the table, and our table was never cleaned. We were rushed multiple times because a “very important client” was coming and “she will be angry,” which is one of the most disrespectful things I’ve experienced in a NYC restaurant. Our bill was $332 and we left $400》 we are willing to pay more, but for honesty, quality, and respect, not for misrepresentation and poor service.
Message to the owners
You will not survive in NYC’s brutally competitive restaurant market if you continue:
– cutting corners on ingredients
– mislabeling products
– hiring untrained underpaid staff
– hiding time limits
– disrespecting loyal customers
– prioritizing “important clients” over everyone else
New York diners are educated, experienced, and have endless options.
A restaurant cannot be built on misrepresentation, cost‑cutting, and lack of transparency.
Exit 9 needs a complete reset in management, training, and integrity if it wants to stay open.
⚠️ A warning to future guests:
If you decide to order “Wagyu” here, ask for the certificate BEFORE you pay.
Authentic Wagyu, whether Japanese A5 or American Wagyu, always comes with an official certificate confirming the farm, origin, grade, and marbling score.
Every reputable NYC restaurant provides it immediately upon request.
Exit 9 could not provide any certificate because the meat served was not Wagyu by any standard.
Do not assume you are getting what is written on the menu 》 verify it!
P.S.
I am not hiding my name. The owners are welcome to contact me directly if they want to discuss this experience. I stand by every word of this review.
