From the moment we walked in, the experience was incredible. We were warmly greeted right away and all of our questions were answered (it was our first time visiting), which immediately made us feel comfortable and excited to be there.
We were suggested to head to the bar before being seated, and I’m so glad we did! The bar service was phenomenal — the bartenders and staff greeted us immediately and made sure we were taken care of without missing a beat. The drinks were absolutely a vibe.
When we were seated, Anthony took over and he was fantastic. He was attentive without being overbearing, made thoughtful suggestions, and truly made sure every need and want was met. Even when my friend had to leave midway through our visit and my partner arrived later, Anthony seamlessly kept the energy fun and welcoming. The conversation was great, the service was consistent, and he genuinely elevated our entire experience.
The whole staff was fabulous, the atmosphere is incredible, the food was outstanding, and the drinks were just as impressive. I would absolutely recommend this place and will definitely be back.
Thank you, Anthony, for making our night so memorable!
Quick update here, since my son and I got to go again on Friday Service was still wonderful!!! I was drinking the Lavendar Cider, which is beyond delicious! We also got the Sticky Pork Ribs this time. They were BEYOND tender & juicy as all heck, and OMGeeee, the way the calogen just engulfed your mouth & made my lips sticky with all that pure goodness, oh my goodness!!! These rlbs were phenomenal, plus they broke it down for us to share! If we could do first class 24-7, that’s where I’d say these ribs belong!!I I did not get any kind of green chile flavor unfortunately, but you could definitely taste the Thyme & Pink Peppercorns, and I believe mustard seeds, cinnamon, star anise, bay leaves & who’s your sister sauce, It’s only three ribs, served atop of deliciously buttery grits, with an arugula salad accompanied on top (which contained all three colors of bell peppers pickled, and either jalapeños or shishito peppers pickled as well). All in all, very yummy!!!!
A Must-Visit Spot in Albuquerque!
Ex Novo blew me away — this is not your average brewery. The craft beer selection is top-notch (I loved the Coffee Penguin Tuxedo stout and the crisp Mexican Lager), and the cocktails are equally impressive. Each drink is beautifully crafted and pairs perfectly with the food — seriously, follow the pairing suggestions on the menu. They know what they’re doing.
The food? Way beyond typical bar fare. I had the Sticky Pork Ribs, and they were fall-off-the-bone tender with a rich glaze, plated like a dish from a gourmet kitchen. The same I could tell for the Churrasco, very juicy. The whole dining experience felt upscale but still welcoming and casual.
The vibe is modern, clean, and cozy — perfect for a relaxed night out with great food, great drinks, and great people. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in ABQ!
If there are no tables you could walk to a mini bar upstairs
Pro tip: Try the El Jefe Margarita with any pork dish or the Papa Soltero beer with a burger — you won’t regret it.
