Higher end take on tacos, burritos and more but for casual dining and prices!! $5 tacos, $15 burrito, etc. Local gem and favorite of local friend’s family. Small outdoor semi-enclosed gated seating, you’ll need to walk through the restaurant to reach it or there is 1 table outside on the street curb. No heat lamps so dress appropriately in the winter. No restroom. Soda or mineral water sold there. Free street parking.
If you want to go bougie for some fancy tacos, then $7-$8 speciality tacos are delicious!!! I didn’t know they had regular tacos and ended up just ordering $8 The Posiden (octopus) and $7 The Simmons (lengua uncut). Sauce and mix are delicious! Proteins of lengua and octopus are cooked well and have that QQ to it….not easy to do! Their guca does hav dairy. For those with dairy allergies to sensitivities, guca can be taken out.
– My high end $7-$8 per taco was definitely really tasty, but I’m cheap and probably will go with a burrito or try their $5 tacos next time. I’m usually happy with just typical or simple purist standards or cleaner foods.
The SO said his torta was 5stars! The torta was overly bready like many places.
Love that the Anthony Bourdain shrine in the back seating area! Will be back!

I loved my Prince of Darkness burrito so much I bought to go.
Husband and wife owned- already a reason to support them. Heavy, Death Speed metal, and Goth, lovingly decorated with music of the same. A pretty sweet set up. Yummy, interesting, new-to me, clever, creative, delicious food. A full vegetarian and vegan menu.
After we left, we checked the bill and maybe something was off. But I’ll just pay attention next time!
There were issues of incorrect information of whether or not dishes had nuts or peanuts in them that caused discomfort.
But even with those hiccups, I’ll be back.
Oh and the goth taco- so pretty.

We went to Kamakazi VDay Dinner event and I didn’t enjoy the food all that much, flavors were kinda exotic for me and didn’t seem worth $110 per person. We love their regular menus but the special one for this event wasn’t our cup of tea. I know the chef is trying to get recognized which is great but I wish they told us the price ahead of time and also wished they served alcohol. It was 4 small meals with 3 small flavored aguas. Stick to regular menus in my opinion but otherwise love this small business and theme!

Wonderful atmosphere. Vibe is completely metal, and that’s the point. Wife had the Poseidon with octopus. The octopus was perfectly charred and the sauce tasted like a more umami version of the mole Colorado i grew up with. I had the three from heaven (vegan) and three from hell (meat). I’m not much of a vegan food person, but those tacos were amazing! this place is Michelin Star worthy. Will come back next time in the area.

The bean and cheese dumplings are mind blowing. The tacos are some of the best I’ve had in LA. The black el pastor is life changing. I can’t wait to come back here and try more of what they have to offer. The vibes are impeccable. Super friendly staff. A+++

This is the best food experience you could ask for. The menu appeals to everyone, adventurers and those who love a tasty taco. I guarantee you won’t find their flavor anywhere!! Sitting at the counter and trying their aguachile, pho-king salad, and unique spin on fish and chips was one of the most satisfying meals I’ve ever had. The taco menu is unmatched. A must when in the LA area. Don’t skip the dessert tacos!!

The James Beard award says it all! Go get it! Delicious and inventive, also serving classics. Loved my chorizo verde breakfast burrito. Look forward to going back for dinner with this tight knit crew of neighborhood foodies, who elevate Mexican food to an art form. The food is made with such love! I felt right at home with the metal vibe and locals hanging out, offering tastes of fresh chicharrón and sampler donut confections.
Fresh cut flowers on each table.
Great place to go for casual lunch or special night out.
Extra points: vegan menu on flip side of meat menu,
Infinite points: Metal RULES!! “Blood” fountain!

I was craving quality Mexican food … and we found this. This location may not be presuming, but it taught me not to judge a book by its cover. Service was wonderful , home made tortillas, fresh herb salsa , great quality meats , and a fun menu. You can tell they were intentional about being different but remaining the authentic and quality of Mexican food. Highly recommend.
