We always order from Evergreen, and the food has consistently been good. However, my recent experience has left me disappointed. I ordered a combo meal and opted to add a soup this time, but they sent me the smallest container I’ve ever seen. I paid an extra $1.25 for this small container? I’m really let down. I’ve included a picture of the soup alongside a container of sauce that my wife received for her crab wontons.

I came here ten years ago after my wife and i moved into the area and the food was so expensive we didnt return until now. Today, My General Tso chicken def had parts in it that were NOT chicken or were extremely outdated. I’ve never experienced spitting out Chinese food in all of my life it was so disgusting. Disappointed. This reaffirmed that not eating here was a good decision and for a place that automatically adds a convenience fee and tries to tack on an automatic tip for online orders they need to do better (see other reviews).
It’s sad there isn’t a good Chinese restaurant in the inwood Charlestown area but there’s not. Imo, save your time and money.

Zero atmosphere.
Horrible food that tasted like it was made last week and reheated in a microwave.
If you call them and ask for anything, they will hang up on you, so you have to go in. It used to be better. Idk what happened. The egg drop soup was good, though. Chips were stale. Rice was made in old oil and I don’t think that was chicken.

Hands down the best Chinese food I’ve ever had!!! Came to visit from GA and this place should get 10 stars!

We were really disappointed with our take out. We ordered chicken chow mein and received a container that was half full of water with soggy onions and a few pieces of chicken. No noodles at all!? I’ve never seen chow mein without noodles.
Also ordered the crispy beef and it was really bad just more onions with very soggy strips of breaded “beef?”, no “crispy” to be found.
But the hot and sour soup was good, so at least I had a $31 bowl of soup for Father’s day.

I called and asked if they had read any of their reviews and they couldn’t get me someone who speaks ANY English except ok and no. So no they can’t even read English I assume so they don’t care if they get bad reviews. I wanted to give them an honest try but my money is too valuable to me to take a chance on a place that won’t even acknowledge what is wrong. Smh I won’t be spending my money here.

The food was honestly a little bland. They also told me they didn’t have shrimp egg rolls; but in a way that made it sound like it wasn’t even on the menu. Which is weird in my opinion. However, it was okay and we ate it all. The reason I gave it 4 stars was for the silliest reason: my fortune came true.

Wish I had read the reviews before going I’m calling it Nevergreen instead of Evergreen because I’m never going back again. Learn from your reviews and fix your mistakes. Invest in new kitchen equipment. I ordered ribs and was horrified to see them being cooked in a microwave. When I told them I didn’t want ribs cooked in a microwave they lied to my face and said they were not microwaving my ribs then lied again and said that was only part of their cooking process . Long story short after more lies I received rubber ribs. Having worked in the kitchens of several restaurants and being a chef myself I knew the outcome and my requests to have them cooked another way fell on deaf ears. Save your money I don’t trust a restaurant willing to lie to a customers face. No we did not eat the ribs a waste of money. I have never given any restaurant a bad review this is the first.

Ordered a large amount of different foods for myself, roommates, and guests and let me just say that the food was AMAZING! Generous portion sizes, delicious food, fast service, and fair prices? Absolutely. My roommates and I will be getting food here often.
I’m a pretty plain food/picky person, I’ve had sweet and sour chicken from every Chinese restaurant around and Evergreen had not only the best tasting, but the best leftovers as well. Usually sweet and sour chicken gets soggy/mushy, but that was not the case here. Hell, I even ate it cold and it was still as delicious as it was fresh. The amount of chicken inside the breading was INSANE!! I was so full off of a small portion, that I didn’t even have to dish out any rice to go with it.
My friends and roommates enjoyed their egg rolls, lo meins, and orange chickens! I can’t remember the entire order, but there wasn’t a single dish that left any of us unsatisfied. Nothing was mediocre, nothing was “just OK”, everything was amazing and perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a better first impression of a restaurant and their food.
