As you enter, the first impression is that it is a rather snug restaurant with a great aroma. The bartender directs you to your table. Our dinners each had medium spice. This allowed the flavor of the dish come through while still enjoying a little heat. When trying both our dishes, I was impressed by the difference in flavors of spiciness even though they were both medium heat. The Sherpa chai had a great balance of flavor between milkiness the the chai soices. Overall, we were certainly impressed by our meals and prompt service. Looking forward to returning.

One of the best restaurants for Nepali/Himalayan food!
I’ve been here a few times, and every visit the food has been consistently delicious.

Their momos are a must-try, and the chow mein noodles are excellent as well.
I also recommend the Chicken Polayko, it’s like an upgraded version of Indian Chicken Tandoori.

The biryani is decent, but the other dishes truly stand out.

This place is an absolute gem of A2.
The service is fast, kind, personable. The atmosphere is good for a date OR a group dinner. But the food is OUTSTANDING. The momos are unreal, the naan is on point, and the currys all hit just like they should. 10/10, will be back soon

I feel like I’m giving away a secret. Most weeks I stop next door at music go round but today I was intrigued by the aroma coming from the restaurant next door.

Excellent fresh food unlike anything I ever had. Many unique flavors exploded on my tongue. Service was excellent, great atmosphere and prices were reasonable.

The outside of Everest Sherpa does not do it justice. Inside is a cozy space that transports you to Nepal w the decorations and the aroma of the great food. I ordered an appetizer called momos having no idea what they were. These were amazing w/ pieces of dough covered veggies, rice and great spices w/ spicy dipping sauce. I ended up getting a rice and chicken dish as the main entree. The rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked. The chicken had tomato sauce which I had not expected. It was still good but I’ll get something else next time.

Neat place with some different types of food. Chili chicken momo and pakora appetizers were very good. Cumin lime chicken and paneer mahkani also very good. Chicken sherpa stew was hearty with lots of veggies but didn’t have quite as much flavor as the other dishes.
Mango lassi and sherpa chai were also good.
Restaurant was clean and colorful. Service was attentive. Spice levels varied and some were fairly hot, so order with caution.

Came into town and my brother in law and his wife took us out to dinner for some
Indian cuisine and the restaurant was cute and small but smelled amazing. Only thing the food took so long and the waitress wasn’t familiar with anything on the menu…
Could she have been new?? Not sure but if
She was they should have had her shadowing someone so she could be able to communicate the customer’s need because she had to go
to the manager for everything we asked for.

Moving on to the food it was pretty good! Now if you are a bread lover – the naan bread is ammmazing!!! Oh my god I was hooked! My
Rice and curry sauce was good and chicken was tasty. My husband had noodles and he was satisfied. The soup reminded me of smashed peas or Gerber baby food I have my babies – so
I passed on that.
The space was a little jammed while you ate customers waiting to be seated seemed to hover over you so that felt a little weird as they watched you eat while they looked hungry and anticipating you to get up.

Excellent experience. The atmosphere is intimate, no TVs distracting from each others company. The food was great. We ordered food as a family and shared a number of curries. Every single one was great. Plenty of rice was also served with them. Our server was friendly and professional. The price was also reasonable.

I tried the Traditional Curry with lamb and the Basecamp Thukpa, and both were delicious. The waitress explained that the traditional curry is Nepali, distinct from Indian curry. I’m glad I managed to avoid Indian flavors in a Nepali restaurant. The garlic naan was tasty, though not as garlicky as I’d expected. I also had the Sweet Lime and Masala Mint Lemonade—both were great, but I preferred the Sweet Lime. I really liked the art decoration—beautiful Nepali-Tibetan-inspired pieces—that added a special charm to the space. I’ll definitely return to try more dishes.

Everest Sherpa is probably my favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor. Their summer specials have all changed my life for the better. They have a lot of amazing vegetarian & meat-eater options. We LOVE the chili momos, dal makhani, coconut curry, mint masala lemonade, mango lassi, and tandoori chicken.

All of the staff is incredibly kind and wonderful!! Love this place so much!!
