This was the first time I’ve been here since they moved to this new location. I had with me family members that have never been there before at all. We were all VERY impressed with the inexpensive prices, the quantity of food for the price, and the quality of the food! Our food arrived quickly, everything fresh & hot. Their pancakes were FABULOUS!!! I’ll definitely go again if/when I’m back in the area.
That was a bust. First time there, I walked in. No signs telling you to seat yourself or to wait, so I waited. One of the three waitresses comes over towards me, cell phone between her shoulder and ear. Puts away the coloring books that she had in her hands (I had to step back a step, she literally had to go exactly where I was standing.)
She walked away without even looking at me.
2 minutes later, one of the other waitresses looks at me and says “What do you….?”
I said I hadn’t been there before, was I to seat myself? She just says yeah.
I sat down for 3 minutes…. There’s three waitresses and five tables occupied.
3 minutes later, they hadn’t asked if I wanted a drink or anything, no contact whatsoever.
I walked out, went a block down to the grocery store and grabbed a pound of bacon and a loaf of bread. I have eggs at home.
You may say I’m jumping the gun, but if this is the first five minutes, what would the rest of my visit be like?
Disappointed. I’ve worked for tips and these young ladies would have been compensated well enough for their services. And if I had had a good experience, I would probably be there at least once a month. I might give them a try in another 4 years, but as of now… I’ll just keep making breakfast at home.
I ordered a hot Turkey sandwich and fries. It was great. It was chunks of Turkey, not a slice of lunch meat. The gravy tasted homemade.
My friend had a burger and fries which looked good, too.
I will definitely return and recommend it if you like home cooking.
