Alicia was our server, she was friendly and efficient. I had chicken and waffle. It was excellent. The breakfast came with a side of potatoes. They baked and fried, the flavor and doneness very good. My wife had the Denver Omelette. She said it was very good. The portions were generous. The walls are decorated with photos from the owner. Probably 100 or more high quality images. The coffee ☕ a served with mugs and the coffee stays hot. We will back again. Evelyn’s is located in large plaza that house Good Will and Ollie’s. The one thing I recommend is where a sweater or jacket.

Not a big fan of grouper fish but wanted to give it another try. They had a grouper sandwich on Sunday and it was delicious! Very well-seasoned with their delicious slaw to balance out all the flavors! Definitely going again.

When I first moved to the area, I didn’t think Kingsport had any good restaurants. I stand corrected. I have since found many. Today I tried Evelyn’s. I liked the friendliness of the staff, the nice touch of coffee mugs, the service was quick enough although I was only 1 of 2 tables at the time. I had the recommended Nashville chicken and waffle and house potatoes. The plate arrived with enough food for 3 people. I brought home plenty to enjoy later in the day. Some items may seem pricey, but the portions seem to be huge. And this is fresh made food. You pay more for better quality. And bringing food home really makes it reasonable.
I read comments about the potatoes being dry and overcooked. I will say that I would’ve preferred mine less cooked and softer. But I always use ketchup and that made it work. I wanted to bring home my Star Wars mug, of course I didn’t. I will be back and I recommend. Maybe avoid the peak hours if there is an issue with wait time for food. But remember, it takes time to cook from scratch.

Came here and had breakfast with a couple of friends who are local. This place appears as a hole in the wall from outside but you walk in and are immediately welcomed and we were able to be seated immediately.
We sat down and received menus and the server took our drink orders. Our server brought our drinks and then took our food orders. My husband ordered coffee. Apparently one of their unique features is they have a variety of coffee mugs that are each different and make this spot even more special. My husband got a hilarious coffee mug (shown below). I ordered the B&G breakfast platter. My husband ordered the Nashville Hot chicken and waffles.
My platter came out and the portions are huge! My dish included 2 fried eggs, bacon, potatoes and a biscuit and gravy. All of the food was delicious. The biscuit and gravy was also very yummy! I was very happy with the flavor of the gravy and the biscuit, the edges had a small amount of crisp, just right, and the middle was fluffy and soft. It was just right! The portion was so much I was unable to finish it! My husband got his plate and his serving was also very large. He said it was the best Nashville Hot chicken he had ever had. He did say he wished he would have asked for honey instead of syrup, but otherwise it was very good. He had so much he also was unable to finish his food.

When we arrived we were told the kitchen had to catch up, so we needed to wait 10/15 min. We were offered to pick where we wanted to sit which was nice. After reviewing the menu, the prices were pretty high. Most of the items on the menu gone up in price between .50¢-$2.00 between an 8 month period when the restaurant uploaded the prices of their menu. The menu has been laminated and white out over the previous dollar value and you can see the increase. They seemed to have been out of some items that we asked for or were unsure if they had it or not. Not much bacon in the bacon egg and cheese waffle. The water tasted clean and filtered, actually drinkable. Dishes appeared to be clean. The restaurant was clean and bright. There was one large table in the back towards the restrooms for what seemed to be for family gathering or party. There was one men’s and one women’s restroom, spacious and clean. Checkout is done at the table, so you don’t have to wonder if you need to make way to the front to pay. Plenty of parking, ground floor with outdoor seating.

We stopped in on a Wednesday morning for an early breakfast. Our server was super friendly and on top of everything. The food was good. I could tell they used quality ingredients. I got the bacon avocado tomato Benedict with hollandaise on the side. Loved the bacon, avocado & tomato was fresh. Omelette was a bit small especially for the price but hubby said it was good. The watermelon was yummy! Overall it was a bit pricey but I’d go back because it feels like they prepare their food fresh and from scratch & I like supporting local restaurants. Restaurant was clean and uncluttered.

By far THE GREATEST BREAKFAST IN KINGSPORT! The best ever breakfast. My wife and I tried this place for the first time. Overwhelmed by the menu choices and ingredients. I went with the Arkansas because I’ve never seen fried pickles on a biscuit on any menu before and she went with the Apple Walnut Waffle. Waitress was nice and attentive, food came out quickly. Every thing we got was SO GOOD. Unbelievably good. The ingredients and the food combinations are something you’d expect in a fancy restaurant in a big city. This place is a hidden gem!!! HOMEMADE BISCUITS

This is truly a family-owned and operated small business that does the #eatlocal movement justice!! We will be back repeatedly as we have to visit Kingsport at least once a month for appointments.
