This is a beautiful bakery. The folks working there always greet me with a smile. The assortment of treats is incredible. It’s tough to choose! They also make the best cakes! So many choices and each one is made with great care and gourmet ingredients. Today a bought a tiramisu whoopie pie. It was a work of art and delicious! Easily a dessert for two!

I ordered the birthday cake for my mom’s eightieth birthday party from here. It was absolutely delicious. I got the amaretto torte. It’s not too sweet, and has a lovely texture. In addition, we picked up several baked goods which were all really yummy… Including a pumpkin croissant and a chocolate croissant and an apple turnover and something cinnamon. Everything was fresh and tasty and baked to perfection.

This post is to help others like me that were wondering whether worth the drive. Overall you can tell quality ingredients and care were used. But if you are comparing their eclairs to an authentic french eclaire you will be very disappointed. Overall pastries were too sweet as well , so although the name states “european” bakery, it is quite americanized and not European. I recommend edelweiss in biddeford for swiss pastries that are truly european in style. Although the staff at european bakery and the ambiance was welcoming and looked promising..unfortunately the pastries fall short other than the savory croissant as I thought it was quite tasty and was not overburdened with sugar.

I get some thing for my wife whenever passing through. They have a very high average of excellent pastries. And she loves them. Eclair, fruit tart, cream horn not so much on the lemon tart.

Very friendly staff & amazing pastries. My fiancé & I both got chocolate croissants & they were the best we’ve had. Will definitely be going back if we are ever in the area again!

I ordered a cake that my daughter found a picture of on Pinterest. She wanted it for her 21st birthday and it came out more beautiful than we expected. It was also delicious. I would highly recommend this place. In the photo, you can’t see the beautiful little flowers that are surrounding the cake as well.

The European Bakery is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves fresh, flavorful pastries and pies. Everything they make tastes homemade and delicious, and my family especially loves their pies. The staff is always welcoming and friendly, which makes every visit a pleasure. It’s also great that they take pre-orders, so you can be sure your favorites are ready when you need them. Highly recommend!

I went for the first time and bought a few things to see what they were like. I bought a Napoleon which is very disappointing. The glaze was thick and chewy which I found rather odd. The chocolate drizzle was tasteless. The pastry was tough and not flaky and the pastry cream was bland. I’m surprised I tasted no vanillin at all. The second item I bought was two peanut butter cookies. Oddly enough One was dry and crumbly and the other one was moist but neither had much of a peanut butter flavor.. I got a brownie that had chocolate ganache frosting which was horrible. It was like a piece of soft chocolate fudge without the chocolate flavor. Just awful. And the last item was a blueberry muffin (It was $4.50. Shaw’s makes a better blueberry muffin for $1.99) which was quite expensive but the best thing I got which was okay. It had a lot of blueberries but not much blueberry flavor but the muffin itself had decent flavor. I got two chocolate chip cookies which I gave to a friend and they said they were okay. I spent just shy of $25 and I wouldn’t go there again

Solid experience, friendly service, good pastries, quick turnaround. Black and white cookies and the eclairs are especially good (IMO)

I recently visited this charming bakery, and it’s safe to say I’m obsessed with their éclairs and cupcakes! The éclairs are an absolute dream—perfectly crisp choux pastry filled with velvety custard and topped with a chocolate glaze that strikes the right balance of sweet and rich. Each bite was pure bliss. The cupcakes are equally divine, with fluffy, moist cake and frosting that’s decadent without being overwhelming. The variety of flavors kept me wanting to try them all! The display cabinet was a feast for the eyes, packed with stunning cakes that looked absolutely delicious—almost too pretty to eat. My only gripe is that they don’t sell these gorgeous cakes by the slice, which was a bit disappointing since I was dying to try a piece without committing to a whole cake. I really wish they’d consider offering slices in the future; it would make the experience even more perfect. Overall, this bakery is a must-visit for pastry lovers. The éclairs and cupcakes alone are worth the trip, and the ambiance is cozy and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back for more of those treats, but I’m crossing my fingers they’ll start slicing up those tempting cakes soon! Highly recommend!
