It’s not just the coffee (which is unreal).
It’s not just the pastries or the food (also dangerous in the best way).
It’s the culture that walks in and out of the door all morning.
The laughing.
The joking.
The respect.
The way the workers actually know your name and not in that forced customer service tone.
I’ve never once gotten the “I hate my job, what do you want” vibe from anyone there. Ever.
These are people who actually see you.
People who treat everyone like humans.
People who make you feel welcome without even trying.
And the regulars…
Man. Watching grandparents pass around a newborn like it’s the most delicate egg on Earth powered entirely by endless kisses?
That alone could fix half the world’s problems.
If more of us were exposed to that kind of genuine, gentle love, we’d all go from wilted plants to blooming flowers overnight.
And it’s not just the staff, the customers are just as welcoming.
My first time there, I wasn’t all “OMG FAMILY” right away.
I just walked in, got a really good coffee, and looked around quietly.
But then the addiction began.
And I stopped resisting.
(I mean… I work 14 seconds across the street. At some point denial becomes comedy ♂️☕️)
By my third visit, they already knew my name.
When I started coming for lunch, and when I came an hour before work for breakfast, I saw how everyone interacted.
Good mornings.
How are yous.
Small conversations across tables.
Little moments of kindness bouncing around the room.
And now every morning the place fills up with life.
Babies being passed around.
Ten conversations overlapping at once.
That real Fall River vibe, Portuguese mixed with some Spanish, and plenty of people saying “caa” instead of “car.”
People around the world know Fall River accents. I love it.
I’m fully immersed in it before 8 a.m.
The laughing, the hollering, the storytelling.
Nobody tells anyone to quiet down because it genuinely feels like a family house.
You wouldn’t tell your loud uncle across the room to be quiet.
That’s the energy here.
Everyone just lives their life, and it all fits together.
No negativity.
No attitude.
Just community and people looking out for each other.
The workers are right there in it too, laughing, joking, poking baby noses while the grandmothers pretend they’re fighting over who gets a turn next.
It’s exactly what the world needs more of.
Now I’m not saying Europa is the best place on Earth
(though honestly they might be, I’m not ruling it out )
But what I am saying is this:
Small places like this, real local spots, give you something the big green and orange coffee chains can’t.
Better coffee.
Better food.
Better people.
And actual peace.
Why drive around town for mid-quality coffee served with a “what do you want” attitude when Europa gives you the opposite every single time?
Anyway, to bring it home:
If you want Christmas in a cup, get their drink called Christmas Market.
It’s a 10 out of 10, warms your heart and your soul, and honestly feels like the holiday season itself hugging you.
That’s it.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk about pastries, community, and why Europa is single-handedly holding my mornings together. ❤️ ☕
Here’s the culprit. The reason my soul feels warm and my wallet is slowly giving up.
This Christmas Market latte is the one I was talking about… warm praline, hazelnut, white chocolate, and somehow it tastes like kindness and peace in a cup.
Breakfast sandwiches and lunch options as well (Check out their website menu)…
I tried the Pata de
Veado (A vanilla and sweet cream pastry), Tiramasu and Pistachio Cannoli.
They Were Delicious!
They are open early and have a nice clean seating area to chill and people watch…
Check them out if you’re in the area!
