Reviews
I have known Chalet for some time, as it was originally held at a different location, and this season it is being done here, so I decided to visit again after a while.
While the venue has changed, the overall Chalet style itself felt largely unchanged.
The food was consistently good, starting with the onion soup served at the beginning, which was delicious as always.
For the main dish, I chose the cheese fondue with truffle topping, and it had a rich flavor with a wonderful aroma, making it very satisfying.
The quality of the cheese was high and paired well with the bread.
If there were more ingredients such as shrimp available, it would make the experience even better.
The chocolate fondue for dessert was also well done and served as a nice finish to the meal.
The only disappointing point was the service. Despite the restaurant still having plenty of empty seats, the staff encouraged us to leave relatively early, which felt unnecessary.
This was particularly unfortunate because the food itself was very satisfying.
If the service aspect were improved, it would be an even more pleasant place to enjoy a meal.
I visited with friends to try cheese fondue.
I’d been there before when it was held at a different location, and when I heard it was back here, I decided to return.
The restaurant’s atmosphere hadn’t changed much, with dim lighting that made it feel like a mountain hut.
The onion gratin soup we started with was delicious and filling, with bread included.
It was served piping hot, so it warmed me up.
I chose the cheese fondue with truffles, which was absolutely delicious.
They offer salad and ham, but bread is the only ingredient in the cheese fondue.
I would have liked some other ingredients, like broccoli or shrimp, since I would have gotten bored of it halfway through.
The chocolate fondue for dessert was not too sweet and was delicious, but the ingredients had changed from previous offerings.
Pineapple and banana were not offered, and the only fruit available was strawberry, which was a bit disappointing.
I was also disappointed that, despite there being many empty seats, the staff told me they had another reservation and asked me to leave.
On my way out I noticed that there was another room where cheese fondue was served, but there were no guests there.
Since I had come all the way there, I wish I could have enjoyed it at my own pace.
We enjoyed our lunch outside in the sun with colleagues, which made the experience very de-light-ful✨✨✨
And the ice cream? Absolutely amaziiiiing
Unfortunately, as a vegetarian with onion and garlic allergies, I was disappointed that the kitchen wasn’t able to accommodate me, despite this being confirmed at the time of booking. I was offered a very simple quinoa and avocado salad, which was very basic. Service was also a little slow, with a few items forgotten, though I understand it may have been a busy period the night before and the staff may be tired.
What was disappointing from a service perspective was being told while waiting for our meal by the manager that, as a French restaurant, garlic is used in most dishes and that this is simply how the French do things. The wording and timing didn’t come across well and didn’t make me feel particularly welcomed. As my dietary requirements were shared in advance, it would have been more helpful to confirm any limitations before the booking rather than raising this during the experience.
Overall, I wouldn’t be in a rush to return unless it was for dessert in the lovely setting.
We ended up having a few drinks and some food up by the bar
Everything was really tasty, and I would definitely recommend this place for a nice chilled vibe for some after work Drinks
