Beza was so warm and inviting to all whom entered the Ethiopic Restaurant. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted with the biggest smile from Beza. I partake in all of her food suggestions as she paired my meal with 3 fabulous wines. This place was truly a delightful place to eat and unwind from the busy world of work and life. Thank you, Beza for making my visit enjoyable. I will definitely come back.

This was my first time at Ethiopic and eating Ethiopian food. The food was delicious. I tried the vegetarian sampler II, sambusa, beef tibs and lamb tibs. The Ethiopian spiced tea was even a hit. Our server Beza was awesome! She helped me understand the food and demonstrated how I should eat it. I will definitely be back with friends.

This place is fantastic. Beza was kind and had great recommendations. The ambiance is low light and just a great all around vibe. The food is to die for. I had the Ethiopic signature tips for entree, sambusas for appetizer and the most decadent crème brûlée for dessert. There is a THICK layer of sugar caramelized on the top. This is the best creme brulee I have ever had and I order wherever they have them. I recommend doing a sampler if you come in a group. You will not regret it. Flavorful, great size and DELICIOUS. The servings are great proportions. Service is immaculate and all around great gem in DC.

I absolutely love this place! The entire experience was phenomenal. The staff here are so polite, very attentive, and friendly. We were seated as soon as we walked in and our server immediately tended to us. It was very busy in there and I could absolutely see why, but yet we experienced no delays in service! I loved the food here! We ordered the lamb tibs with a few other sides, was given injera bread, and another bread as an appetizer. Everything was seasoned to perfection and was very flavorful! You get great portion sizes for a reasonable price as well. I would definitely dine here again and highly recommend this place!

My friend tried the sambusas at the H Street festival and talked about how delicious they were the time we were there. We tried to get some when the festival was over, but they had already shut down. To our surprise, they owned a restaurant and told us to come inside to order.
We sat as the bar and was greeted my Tigest. She told us the different types of sambusas options and we were able to get one of each: chicken, beef and lentil. While we waited, she bought us some water and complimentary bread. The bread was so soft and the dipping sauce was divine! 10 minutes later, our to-go order was ready. By the time I got home, they wre still warm and I quickly dove in. The lentil was definitely my favorite but the green sauce took it too another level. I believe it was a cilantro, jalapeño and lime combo. I’ll be sure to ask when I return to the restaurant to try for dishes.

The food was phenomenal. Highly recommend the fried fish, lamb, and the veggie platter. The one star deduction is due to the enforced $10 “service fee” as tip. After bringing out the food, the wait staff just figure about us. Didn’t refill the water. I had to ask for the go to containers several times. I didn’t appreciate being forced to tip when the service was mediocre.

first time ever getting ethiopian food and i thought it was fantastic! pictures of the vegetarian sampler do not do the size justice – the meal was practically the size of a pizza and each dip had a very unique flavor. i am deducting a star for the 20% tip that is added to the bill to “offset labor costs.” anything extra that you tip is additional but adding that to the bill is odd. i typically tip 20% regardless, but you should not be forced to tip that much in my opinion.

Food was great. Service was a bit slow when there’s only two tables. Understandable enough as they were probably prepping for dinner.
It was a solo dinner so I went in for a quick bite – ordered the Ethiopic signature tibs with lamb and it was well seasoned and lamb was not as gamey (which would be a plus for some).
Will go back to try their other signature, especially the goat.

WOW!! Absolutely LOVED the food at Ethiopic Restaurant. We had never had Ethiopian food before and did not know what to expect. We followed our server’s recommendation of the Vegetarian Wot Sampler For Two and we enjoyed every bit of it. The food was fantastic, we highly recommend, and we’ll definitely go back next time we are in DC!

We love ethopian food. We were in the DC area and found this place. This place definitely did not disappoint. Food was great. We got the vegetarian sampler, sambusa and their tea. Their complimentary bread and spicy mix was amazing. My kids love it. The staff were very friendly and service was good. Will definitely repeat.
