Dining at Ethio Beans is a warm and flavorful journey into the heart of Ethiopian cuisine. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels inviting, with rich spices and comforting aromas already setting the stage for what’s to come.
The dishes are beautifully prepared, vibrant in color, and bursting with authentic flavor. Each plate is layered with tradition, from perfectly seasoned stews to the soft, spongy injera that ties the meal together. Portions are generous, and everything feels thoughtfully crafted to highlight the best of Ethiopian cooking.
One of the highlights comes at the end of the meal: their delightful homemade tea. Served steaming and fragrant, the tea carries incredible aromatics that fill the room with a soothing blend of spices. It’s the perfect finish—light, refreshing, and deeply comforting—making the dining experience feel complete.

First time trying Ethiopian food. It was an experience of eating food without utensils and new cuisine. The food was really good for its price as well! They shared the culture of Ethiopia . Very friendly. Would definitely visit again.

Just left the restaurant! I went with my stepmom. This was my second time having Ethiopian food and I am very grateful that such an amazing place is near my home. We had tea and harar beer, both of which were stellar. I don’t think I’ve ever had such good tea. Our server told us that the tea and coffee at Ethio Beans are the best and I must agree. The tea had cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom. I’m not much of a tea guy, especially not a hot tea guy, but I finished all the tea when my stepmom had enough. The injera was perfect, dark and almost like sourdough. I got the beef tebes and it was phenomenal, extra spicy with more powdered spice in a dish to sprinkle on, as well a pea or bean paste on the side. That was really really good. It wasn’t too spicy at all! My stepmom had the tegabino shiro and it came out in a stoneware pot, boiling! You can tell they put great care and pride in the food they serve, and everyone we spoke to was friendly and open to chatting with us. The whole experience was great, and I can’t wait to come back!

I have been coming here for years to get Ethiopian food and I can confidently say this is the best Ethiopian in the area, and an amazing value for your money. My personal favorite is the misir wot. You can also purchase a bag of 10 injera for a super reasonable price. The quality of the food is superior to every place I have tried in downtown Chicago. The owner is so sweet and so deserving of the support and love. 10/10 cannot recommend enough, especially for vegans

Ethio Beans is a superior restaurant for a novel gustatory and olfactory stimulus. This restaurant has served delicious food to use and the service was outstanding. We got the platter and their menu was very modifiable. We were able to add additional sides to the platter and the host was very kind. Highly recommended!!

Wow amazing food and great service definitely recommend. The owner is amazing and very accommodating.
The injera is delicous we had both th white and grey kind and love its texture.
Their lamb/goat tubes was delicous. Really enjoyed their chicken curry. The seasoning was very good for all the foods and they allow you to pick your spice level which was really nice. The sambusa had a crispy outside which I really liked and the sauce that came with it is very delicous. The inside filling was some sort of lentils.
Their combo meal was very good overall and all the veggie options were yummy.
They have nice music playing with good decorations and everyone inside was very welcoming and friendly.
Overall 5/5 great Ethiopian restaurant.
