We are in Savannah for a quick 5 day extra long weekend from NYC. After partaking in Dim Sum for the past 25 years in San Francisco and living in NYC for the past 4 years I was skeptical about the quality of Dim Sum in Savannah. My husband and I were walking by yesterday and saw this place and a woman coming out as we were looking at the menu and started raving about this restaurant. We made it a priority to come back the next day. It exceeded our expectations for high quality dim sum (as this is our weekly ritual)! We ate like kings and tried many faves that we have eaten in the Bay Area and NYC and were blown away by the service, food quality and taste. Highly recommend this restaurant.

It was my second time dining here. The food was impressively tasty and the portions were large. Thai tea was delicious and the half&half iced tea is not too sweet.
Highly recommend you to dining here, don’t miss ordering these below

Hung Thai
Swing by for some dim sum. It’s not a huge selection but you can order the favorites all day long. We ordered several dishes to share, including the shiu mai, gyoza, shrimp noodle, chicken feet, pork belly buns, and bok choy. It was very good. Staff was nice and respectful. The restaurant is modern, nicely decorated and was very clean.

Etang provided phenomenal customer service, Especiallyon a busy holiday weekend I’m blown away by how fresh and quality of their dishes. Everything is made in house and you can taste it!

We were served SPOILED shrimp last night, on 11/10. Put a shrimp rice noodle roll in my mouth, took one chew, and had to spit it out. Fishy, funky, rotten tasting. They reeked, I don’t understand how they were served to begin with.
We complained to the waitress, who took it off the bill, but didn’t apologize. We ordered two shrimp dishes and did not even try the second, for fear of it also being spoiled. She would not refund the second shrimp dish.
The scallion pancake was incredibly greasy, and just tasted like dirty oil. The jasmine tea was so weak it was basically water. I was given a dirty spoon (visible debris and a hair – I wish I had gotten a picture). We didn’t even mention these issues to the staff, we only brought the dangerous rotten shrimp to their attention and they did not care or apologize.
Strangely, the spring rolls were fantastic. We started off with those and were so excited to try the rest of our food, only to be highly disappointed. Complete waste of $30. We had to go spend more money elsewhere to get edible food after.

Surprised to find a dim sum place in Savannah.
It’s a small yet decently sized restaurant in the downtown area.
Parking is terrible but there’s a public parking garage across the street.
The dim sum menu is limited but good enough.
All the dishes are cooked to order.
The waiter said that it’s all frozen so not fresh.
The restaurant is northern Chinese style Not Southern style where dim sum comes from.
The food was nice to sample & OK but very small portions while prices were average but is really more expensive because of the small portion sizes typically found in a dim sum restaurant.
It has a regular menu for those not interested in dim sum.
Etang has 3 different restaurants but same chain.. regular, dim sum & noodles.
The general surrounding Chinese population are students from SCAD who are from northern mainland Mandarin China. That helps explain the northern Chinese food focus of the restaurants & its Mandarin staffers.
The regular menu items are authentic Chinese dishes, not the typical coast food from Chinese takeout places, & can be pricey, depending on the dish ordered.

Really solid spot for Asian/Chinese food, it’s become part of my regular rotation whenever I am craving it.
My friends and I had the rice, mapo tofu, scallion pancakes, and veggie fried rice, and everything was delicious and comforting. The mapo tofu was especially flavourful, and the scallion pancakes were perfectly crispy.
Service was friendly and quick, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions. Overall, a dependable place for good food and a good time.

Food and service were both amazing! We went twice within our 5 day stay in Savannah. The pork soup dumplings are to die for! My husband also enjoyed the hot oil wontons. The barbecue pork buns melt in your mouth. And my husband also really enjoyed the sake! 10/10 experience. Will definitely be back! So so good! Must try!

Pan fried dumplings (pork). Also a yes. Also re-ordered these a week later! Great flavor and texture.
Barbecued Pork Buns: Loved! I loved the flavor of the barbecue with the sweetness of the bun. I’ll probably order these again this week.
Green Tea Red Bean Bun: These were interesting. Not bad, just interesting flavor. Sweet, for sure.
Soup Dumplings: Delicious! Great flavor explosion inside! They needed a tinnnny bit more soup inside, in our opinion.
Fried cheese Wonton: Hard to go wrong with this!
