Estabrook Beer Garden represents a return to an era that disappeared from our landscape with the start of Prohibition. It is the first truly public beer garden in America in nearly 100 years. Inspirations came from Milwaukee’s brewing legacy and the operation is modeled after beer gardens found in modern day Munich, Germany. The Estabrook Beer Garden is a place for all people to come together enjoy nature, a great beer and make new friends.
Estabrook Park lies on the banks of the Milwaukee River, the beer garden is set on a bluff just above a waterfall. Visitors arrive by foot, bicycle, automobile, kayak and canoe. Park Amenities include trails, playgrounds, disc golf course, dog park, soccer fields & Riverwalk

An absolutely beautiful place to enjoy a drink. Also loved that they had heaters under their tents! We had our first date here 5 years ago and visited today with just a few days before our wedding. Such a special place.

Beautiful beer garden location. Centered right off the oak leaf trail for easy bike access so you can leave the car at home. Has a camp ground vibe which is lovely, albeit their bathrooms could do with a renovation. Great beer selection and overall an excellent place to spend an afternoon for a couple drinks with friends and/or family.

Great beer garden in the park! Traditional Hofbrau beer and even cover if it rains. Nice view of the falls on the Milwaukee river too.

Loved it! Right by the river listening to the sound of the little waterfall! There’s a park close by and soccer and baseball fields. The food was great and service was fast. There was live music and a good buzz.

Our experience at this beer garden couldn’t have been better. There was an excellent polka duo playing their uplifting music, setting the atmosphere. Then there were all the happy people enjoying the day. The food was good, too.
We were glad to see that our cooler with soft drinks, snacks and water (for those of us who’d rather not drink beer) was welcome!
The area is excellent for a pleasant walk along the Milwaukee River, and there’s an enormous park surrounding the area. Overall, this was a perfect place to relax with friends on a Saturday afternoon.

So much fun!!! Quintessential Milwaukee summer time spot!! The beer is great, lots of seating and open space for picnicking. There’s bar food and brats and yes, even a polka band. Bring your own food for a party, or just sit back with a beer!
The food is good, and the service is light hearted and quick.
Bring your friends from out of town, there’s nothing like an authentic Milwaukee bier garden!!

Fantastic atmosphere, very family-friendly and pet-friendly. Great local musicians, good food and good beer. One of the reasons to love this neighborhood.

I had an enjoyable time at this beer garden! The menu is small but I appreciated they had a featured craft beer, I ended up getting the Hefeweizen which they have half pint and full pint options of. My only issue was the lack of prices on the menu and the online menu not being updated (wrong prices, outdated glass deposit that doesn’t exist anymore) otherwise everything was pretty good and the employees were nice! There is a playground and baseball field nearby, so there is a bit a commotion from children and families but that is common for most beer gardens.

Nice beer garden in a big park and close to a nice waterfall on the Milwaukee river. We stopped here while on a bike trip along the Oak Leaf trail and it was a very nice respite. Good beer choices (we didn’t have any food) and lots of table with umbrellas to sit at. There really isn’t a lot of ‘atmosphere’ at this beer garden (like the lake at South Shore terrace or the wooded area at Hubbard Park), but very nice just the same. Beer was delicious and we were on our way. Lot’s of other things to do in the park as well like frisbee golf, picnicking, fishing etc…. Check it out.

Oktoberfest at Estabrook is a hidden gem. Wonderful food and beverages, great outing with the park and playground for kids and adults. Hot dog was a little disappointing (overcooked and shriveled up) but the currywurst was ridiculously great! Take advantage of this place, you won’t regret it!!!
