My family recently ate lunch at Essence of India and it was just as delicious as it was 2 years ago. We opted for the lunch buffet which was reasonably priced for the large selection of food. We paid about $95 for 4 people before tip.
The atmosphere was very nice. The service is excellent. And the food was abundant, well-presented and wonderfully flavored! Delicious! The buffet offered chicken, shrimp, goat, and vegetarian dishes. Soups, fresh fruits and salads were also available. We enjoyed ourselves immensely! Thank you!

Best place in Tallahassee for authentic indian food!! The Chicken Madras was our absolute favorite dish. You can choose your spice level: mild, medium, or hot. We chose medium and it was delicious the perfect flavor of the coconut and spices. The Lamb Rogan Josh was also excellent. Don’t skip the tandoori naan, we got garlic and rosemary, it comes out fresh and warm. The garlic one was our favorite- they do not skimp on the garlic! First time trying authentic masala chai and it was so strong did not disappoint. Highly recommended trying this place.

I was certainly impressed with the richness and flavor profile of the Tikka Masala here! It was spiced well, and seasoned in a balanced manner that brought me all the flavors I was craving! My family and I drove two hours from Georgia to Tallahassee for a short day trip and we decided to have dinner at Essence of India. Best decision we made! My husband and I shared the dinner for two special and were blown away, everything tasted PHENOMENAL. Our server was so accommodating with exchanging certain appetizers of the dinner special with others due to dietary preferences. The dinner special included appetizers, entrees, rice, butter naan, and dessert. The price is such a steal for the amount of food you get. We have lived in several major cities and tried a great deal of Indian food, and this lived up to all expectations! Already looking forward to our next meal at Essence of India!

10/10… First time trying Real India food. The famous Lamb Josh Rogan was 5 stars itself!! Medium spicy was spicy enough!! And the Garlic & Cheese naan was really really good!!

Went to dinner with my friends from Tallahassee and dinner was amazing, we had lamb koram mixed app platter and a few nanas and it was all too good. Brennen was our server and he was funny and attentive all night .highly recommend to anyone looking for a great Indian restaurant

We walked around 7 PM, didn’t get to eat until after 8:20. We we’re new to trying out Indian food. There was only one server who was amazing and he handle this place the best that he could. Loved the garlic naan bread. The butter chicken was good as well. I’m rating it 4 stars bc the waiter really needed help managing it all + the long wait to get or food.
