The Esplanade Fish Bar boasts a rich culture of knowledge in the Chip shop industry across four generations. For 25 years, our family has managed shops in Banwell, Brean and Lynmouth. 21 years ago we revamped the restaurant on the Burnham seafront and built the Esplanade Fish Bar on a reputation of good food, friendly service and high standards of cleanliness.

Best piece of fish I’ve had in a long while. Batter not too thick and was slightly crispy. Cooked to order. Delicious.
Mind the seagulls if you opt for takeaway and sit on the front wall across the road as they are pretty aggressive.

We choose this fish and chip shop as it seems to be the only one on the front where you could sit with a sea view. We ordered inside and they brought the items to the table. They only took cash only, however they have a free cash point inside so it wasnt a problem at all. The prices were pretty standard, however I dont think the portion sizes were as big as their competitors which I have tried. The chips were outstanding, the fish was nice, but just some slightly off with the batter, not sure if it was slightly undercooked or if the batter itself was not as fresh as it could be. The order did seem to take a long time to come out and everyone around us didnt seem be eating either, so not sure what the delay way. It was a sunny day so we just sat outside soaking up the with the lovely sea views. Either way 9 out of 10, so 5 stars.

One of the best fish and chips I’ve had for a very long time. A wonderful experience staff engaging and pleasant, fish cooked to order and batter was proper good and crispy and not fat soaked which you can get at other places. Chips to perfection and you get your own salt and vinegar supply so you can get the taste just right – loved it

Being fair the foos was really nice, and the service was quick, but we were the only ones in there. On a negative side 2/3 of the way through my meal I found a hair in my chips.

Very busy fish bar with eat in or take away options. A very good size eating in area. Excellent fish and chips and although very busy the wait was relatively short. We decided to eat in and ordered cod and small chips and so glad we did as the Portion size was very good. The only thing you need to be aware of is that they only accept cash. This should not be a major problem as there is a cash machine on site.

Lovely fish and chips would go again for sure. Fish was nice batter was crispy, and fish wasn’t wet and sloppy like most other chippys we have tried.

Great experience cod and large chips for -£15 we shared and lady brought another plate without us asking and didnt think we eat all the cips but were so moorish. Would go back again anyone staying at haven go here rather than chippie on site as no comparison.
