We had a couple glasses of wine along with the Paella Marinera (seafood). It was so beautiful, that it was almost a shame to dig in. The entree was set for two, but the portion was enough to take care of a party of 4!!! Thank you so much for a great parting meal we look forward to our return.
The presentation is also exemplary as is evidenced in the pictures.
If you are on Amelia Island and do not come here, you have missed one of, if not the best restaurant on the island.
Our servers were Ashley our waitresses and Casey who was part of the bus staff. Drinks were always full and clean plates cleared without being requested. I know some restaurants reward their employees when they get mentioned in a review and I hope Espaná does and if not, maybe they should consider it.
Ambiance was nice, with both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside as we had been out in the sun all day and wanted a cool place to sit.
But you want to know about the food:
Wine/beer/drinks – wine, beer, soft drinks, teas and house made Sangria.
Scallops Ole – my favorite fish of the night, Panko covered scallops in a phenomenal sauce. Order bread with it do you can get all of the sauce. They cut the scallops in half, so you only get two full scallops and four total bites.
Ceviche – fantastic, my wife’s favorite of the night.
Stew – hmm, filled with clams, mussels, octopus, shrimp and a host of veggies. Loved the ingredients but it was very salty, not so salty you cannot eat it, but on the verge. Probably would not order this dish again.
No room for dessert.
Again wonderful service, great wine and beer menu, and the food is incredible.
Better than the paella we had in Lisbon on a food tour!! Perfect portion for two. Everything was fresh and service was timely.
The restaurant seems to go out of their way to accommodate special food requests . ( overheard at nearby table) q
Our waiter Eddie was delightful and did not over sell or rush us .
Lovely indoor and outdoor seating.
We made reservations day of on a holiday weekend but for 4pm. Great mid day meal!
