Escape from NY delivers a classic, no-nonsense slice experience that stays true to its New York roots. The pizza is consistently flavorful, with a well-balanced crust that’s crisp on the outside and soft enough to fold. Service is fast and efficient, making it an easy stop whether you’re dining in or grabbing a slice to go. The interior leans into a retro, urban aesthetic that adds personality without distracting from the food. Prices feel reasonable for the portion sizes and quality. The atmosphere is casual and energetic, fitting well into San Francisco’s late-night food scene. Overall, it’s a reliable and satisfying spot for classic pizza cravings.

Went here back on 11/20/25 while in town for Microsoft Ignite. I was a little skeptical about trying New York pizza on the west coast, but I must say it was very good. They also had members of the Top Chef Band. They were very talented, and I was glad I was able to enjoy some live music while eating my favorite food, pizza. It wasn’t too bad of a walk from the Clancy Autograph Collection hotel where I was staying. I highly recommend them, and if I’m ever back in San Francisco, I’ll definitely return.

The pizza lives up to the hype! Specifically the gluten free pie. It was great! Roland took great care in getting the order right and was extremely friendly and welcoming. I absolutely would eat here again.

Great pizza! Both locations have proved to be awesome-though this one has not only a LOT more sitting room and tables than the one on Haight St., but also a bathroom!(which was greatly appreciated) thanks again for being open late! Appreciate you guys and I recommend their pesto pizza to anyone and everybody! :]

Tried this place for the first time and pizzas here are a godsend for my taste. I can taste the ingredients and it has the crispy bottom that doesn’t taste like burnt and it’s not soggy. Not too much cheese and the caramelized bacon is not oily or fully of sugary sap.
Don’t take my word for it, come and try it out! Pricing around $5-$6.5 per slice depending on the toppings. Small cozy place.

One of the few financial district places that stays open late. No slices after 7pm, though. Happy hour is good, but only for cheese or pepperoni pizza. All else is $7 a slice.
I like the potato pizza, but pizza tastes vary widely. Friendly service.

The pizza was really good, however I wouldn’t find myself paying almost $40 on a pie again. No disrespect to the staff tho, they made a nice pizza and it’s a perk that they’re open late. If it’s in your budget I’d definitely recommend trying it.

7$ for the slice. Not bad considering it’s like a whole meal. Pretty greasy. Would recommend their happy hour from 4-6, way better prices
If youre going for quality there is a place up Sutter called Parrot that has better quality for same price. But the location of his place is really good

Huge slices of delicious, New York style pizza in a great downtown location that also serves beer. You can order just an extra large slice or two or however many you can consume, which they can heat up for you to enjoy right there, or take entire pies to go. I really love the potato pizza, while friends love the Hawaiian. Can’t go wrong if you like the toppings. The crust is acceptably thin (though I would prefer it thinner) and crispy–best eaten fresh.
