Kept hearing about Ernie’s and decided to drop in to check out the pepper steak sub and onion rings. The sub was ok but wayyyy too much oregano on it and was kind of overpowering because it was dumped on top not cooked in the meat. Still tasted ok but the problem was the onion rings, one had either the outer film of the onion or it was some kind of paper that I tried biting through before realizing what it was. I’m leaning toward it being the outer skin of the onion but it def turned me off from eating any more of them. Not sure if it was a mental thing or what but after that my stomach was done for the rest of the night. I didn’t give it one star because it did have potential without so much oregano a mayo. At one end of the sub what I thought was a glob of cheese was an ice cream scoop or mayo lol. I’ll try the sub again and ask for no oregano but they can keep the onion rings. It’s in a small lot on a corner so getting out is a little tricky, I parked on the side street near the football field and got out easily. Staff was ok, pretty straight forward with asking what you want and getting you rang up. They did seem to be pretty upbeat and having fun while they worked which is cool to see. With all the orders they have a good system to get the orders in and out.

I went to Ernie’s today after seeing the place pop up on my FYP on TikTok and seeing how everyone was talking about the pepper steak sub I had to drive out there and give it a try and it was not disappointing. I got the pepper steak sub, fries and a dr.pepper but first of all that sub is a 10/10 it was amazing it’s pure perfection I’ll definitely be going back for it, the fries were a little cold but I still ate them and the dr.pepper was nice and crisp. If you haven’t tried this place before you should I’m so glad I did

After being in Greenville numerous times we finally stopped here. We are from PA and this is a must stop. Service was great, place was clean. Lots of customers coming in and out. Staff was friendly and conversating with customers new and regular ones. Food was great. Probably the best cheesesteak Ive had. The bun was fantastic too, fresh soft toasted just perfectly. We got large subs and finally had to force ourselves to stop eating bc we were full but couldn’t put it down. We will definitely be coming back when we are in town.

This was my 1st time eating at Ernie’s. These are the takeaways.
• The service was great. The staff converse with customers making it a relaxed atmosphere.
• My sub was made to order. The sub was well seasoned. I could taste some of it.
• This establishment works fast so I had to check my bags to be sure my order was correct & that I had all of my items.
• My only negative comments about this place is the fact that my sub was overloaded with Oregano to the point that when I bit into it, all I could taste was Oregano & only a hint of the seasoning on the sandwich meat. They put it on the hot cheese which made it very difficult to scrape some of the oregano off. I ordered lettuce on my sub & I didn’t get very much if any.
Other than that little mess up, I’d give this little hole in the wall spot 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stars.

The food here was really good. I read the reviews before going. They just need a bigger sign stating where they are. I took me a few minutes while walking to find it. Directly on the corner across from the dairy queen. I’ll most definitely visit again when I’m in town

I ordered 2 steak n cheese with a small fry. I had to wait for my fry only to get warmed over fries. Everyone know when fries has just come out of the grease. My bread was hard like it had been microwave and put in the oven. I normally call back, but it doesn’t do any good. Fix it right the first time every time. I am done with Ernie’s for a good while. If you don’t want to work stay home and quit serving people food that’s not right period. And yes this happen today, only to get home and discover this mess.

When I tell you to RUN and not walk to this place… I mean it!!! I had heard many things about this particular establishment from not only reviews but several people, so I decided to give then a try today. I am 45 minutes away from this restaurant but was in the area today, and I wanted to take a chance on this place… I’m SO GLAD I did!! From the minute you walk in you are greeted with some of the most amazing scents and smells of your lifetime!! I can see why the parking lot was full and there were so many people inside waiting patiently for their perfectly prepared creations. At the advice of a few, I chose the large Peppersteak Sub All The Way, and let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed!! I just don’t know how they can pack so much flavor in one sandwich!! The entire staff was so friendly and polite and busily working to help everyone, and the short wait was well worth the product (trust me on the wait) There were a few small tables available for dine in, if you choose, but I saw most people were like me and chose to carry out. Grade A Sanitation on the wall, everything was clean and I found the environment welcoming. Now on to the sub… I don’t know if they bake the bread in house or have it delivered, but it was so soft and fresh, but that little bit of crunch you want in that perfect bite! The steak was prepared and seasoned perfectly, with just the right amount of meat, lettuce, tomatoes, banana peppers onion and oregano that your mouth is on the best carnival ride of your life in those bites! The only negative thing I can say is that I’m 90 minutes away round trip, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll be back there again soon!! And yes, if you follow me, you know I don’t give alot of 5 star reviews… but this place Is DEFINITELY 5 star worthy! Keep up the good work guys, I’ll be dropping in on you again in the future!!
