I haven’t been to Ernie’s in a while so today I placed an order as I used to do when I come home to visit… my order wasn’t right and I’m back on the highway .. I called my order in and asked for pepper steak with cheese, fried onions, banana peppers, tomatoes, Mayo and mustard… and a fried apple pie…

Was driving nearby and was looking for a place to eat when I found this place. It piqued my interest because it was such a hole in the wall place but had been open since 1980 and survived Covid. Was greeted with great hospitality and this guy recommended the most popular sandwiches. One of the best subs I’ve had. Would come more often if I was in the area.

I was in Greenville, NC and asked where the best place for sandwiches was. Without hesitation I was referred to Ernie’s. Outstanding sandwiches and apple turnovers. Your tongue and stomach will be delighted.

Had my first sub here not too long ago. Everyone said get the pepper steak so I did and I was very happy. Just the smell of the place when I walked in made me happy. Highly recommend to any sandwich lover. This New Yorker approves

Best sub of my life, hands down with no competition. I was going to take a picture of the sun but it was gone before I was able to. Will be coming back for sure.

Absolutely loved our subs, french fries, sweet tea and apple turnover!! I love that this is a family business also. The bread was good, and so were the ingredients on the sub. I called in my order 30 mins before I got there. Our order was ready and of course there were people in front of me getting their orders too. They appeared to be regulars which I like to see at family restaurants! Will definitely be back again!!!

I was in town for work and was craving a cheesesteak. Read some reviews and decided on this place. If I’m being honest, this is a ghetto fabulous establishment. It was a bit off-putting as staff were loudly talking about customers before they entered the store. But I was hungry, so I waited patiently, collected my food and headed out. I had a 2-hr drive home, so I cracked open my sandwich and commenced to eating. Baby, please hear me when I say that sandwich was straight fire!!! The absolute best that I’ve had!!! For this reason alone, I will return every single time I’m in town. The apple pie was banging too. However, the fries were a nope. They were pitiful, limp and soggy due to them being placed in paper bags and then the bag being closed, trapping the steam in. Y’all, please stop doing that!
