What a fantastic new spot in Encinitas!! The sandwiches are fantastic, so delicious and filling! We had the crispy Caesar and hot pastrami.
There’s a great wine selection (and you can take your fav bottle home for 30% off the listed price). The staff too, it’s so nice to be at a family run business, you can sense the passion – Ernie’s sister in law was fantastic and made us feel right at home.
Ernie’s claims to have the best chocolate chip cookie, so as a chocolate chip cookie lover, I had to try it- it was a GREAT cookie!
We will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

So happy we found this spot! The sandwiches were some of the best we’ve had in a while. We got the turkey cran, and turkey club. You can tell the owners have put their heart and soul into this place. The atmosphere is darling too. We can’t wait to come back with friends and try the evening menu. ❤️

This place does not miss!! Been there a couple times to pick up sandwiches for lunch and concluded that they’re the best sandwiches in Encinitas.
On top of that, went there for a date night last week and the dinner menu/service/atmosphere was phenomenal! We shared a couple Bruschetta boards, a salad, meatballs, a tin fish platter, and topped it off with a Gelato cookie sandwich. Everything was on point and priced very reasonably for the quality of the food.
Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and helped dial in the perfect wines to pair with the food. Also got to meet the owners who are really awesome too!!
Happy to support this local family with what they’ve created and can’t wait to come back!

Ernie’s is an absolute gem! The chopped salad and meatballs were out of this world So fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. This spot is the perfect place for happy hour with friends, great vibes, authentic food, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay all night. If you haven’t been yet, go! A total must-eat. 10/10 baby!

Ordered the bruschetta (crispy prosciutto and strawberry one) great flavors and loved this dish. I am glad to know they will be getting a better bread for the dish though. It’ll bump whats already delicious up for sure!
Also got the meatball shared bowl and pops Cesar salad. Both absolutely phenomenal. Great flavors on the meatball and the salad was crisp and fresh!
Monique was our server and was such a pleasure. Extremely helpful (thank you for suggesting the meatballs!), attentive, and overalls outstanding! We will definitely be back and looking for this to be our spot in the future!

New place with an interesting menu of my favorite lunch items, sandwiches So I had to give them a try. Also saw that the sandwiches were on Dutch crunch bread which I love and not always easy to find. I had the Whole Shebang sandwich which is ham,. Turkey,. Roast beef and bacon, and avocado. They just opened and the place is not big but they were doing brisk business with at least two good size groups of 5-6 people, maybe more, and one at the bar. Two more joined me there while eating. They were quick and attentive and Dutch crust is always awesome and one of the main reasons I beelined in there. Service was quick and attentive. I will be back and try other sandwiches … On Dutch Crust!

We had the best time! Our server Katie was so wonderful and took great care of us. She recommended a delicious and very reasonable french rose for our group which we loved. She also suggested some of her favorite items on the menu and she did not steer us wrong! The brushetta board- yum! The curried chicken was devine! We also loved the charcuterie board- especially the truffled salami and interesting cheeses. The atmosphere was so cute and the owner Dave stopped by to chat and check in, and had us all laughing. This is a great neighborhood gem and we will be back soon!
