Ernie’s is a Roanoke institution that I wholeheartedly support. The food, service, and environment are what a hometown diner should be. The staff is attentive and welcoming, food is nothing fancy in the best of ways, and I feel welcomed every time I walk in. I’ll keep visiting until the day I die!

Amazing!!! The food was classic and delicious and the price was awesome! The staff were super friendly and got us our food so fast. The sweet potato pancakes were worth a post card home. Would 10/10 recommend. Great vibes. We originally went to eat across the street and were extremely disappointed with wait times/service/menu/prices/vibe and decided to just have a drink and then pop over to Ernie’s for food. Could not have been more glad that we did!!

Cute little hoot of a breakfast joint. Our server was hilarious and very attentive. (Shout out to Deyjah, she needs to be promoted to CEO) food came out quick and was great. Would highly recommend.

Stopped by Ernie’s for breakfast this past week and was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, the prices were unbeatable, and the service was right on point. No frills, just a solid spot to start your day. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area.

How can someone mess up a pancake? This place has the answer. Worst breakfast from a restaurant in my opinion. If it wasn’t for the price, know what for the price it still was a waste of time and money. My friend got the sausage gravy with biscuit, gross. Sausage looked under cooked and gravy was like paste. In my opinion do not use the stomach space on Erine’s. The service was not pleasant either, which is a shame because the food reflects the attitude we received. Do not waste your time and money here, I know you can cook better at home than this place.

Holy cow! This place was amazing. Some of the best breakfast food me and my partner have ever had. Highly recommend the house potatoes & potato cake. We went around 1pm & they were out of biscuits and gravy but we will be back tomorrow for them! If you’re thinking of trying Ernie’s, go!!!

Great find for a delicious, quick and affordable breakfast! Comfortable, down home cooking and service. We knew it was a gem when the staff greeted so many of their regulars by name. Came back twice while in town. They’ll treat you well!

I was searching on Google for a quick breakfast spot, and that’s how I ended up at this place. It’s my first time visiting this city, and what stood out about this restaurant was that it’s the oldest in town, with a long history and strong ties to the city.
When I walked in, I noticed that the restaurant only had one server, and the menu was quite small, which wasn’t too surprising. As for the food quality, it was pretty standard, home-style cooking. If you’re looking for a relaxed, “eating-at-home” kind of vibe, then this place could be a nice stop.

Came here for breakfast on our way home to SC. I ordered the biscuits w gravy. The gravy was really good! The biscuit was okay but I think they’d be better if they were made with butter. My husband ordered the western omelette. It was really tasty. We shared a potato cake. The texture was interesting but my husband loved it. Nice relaxing atmosphere.
