10/4 Saturday evening around 7:30 PM. I sat in the red light lounge area. The bartender was excellent! Friendly talked, but not enough to be annoying and let me eat. His years of experience were evident. Had the seafood gumbo as an appetizer had the Ernest red snapper as main dish. It was some of the best snapper I’ve ever had! I wish I knew the bartender’s name but sadly, I forgot. Big gentlemen, with glasses and white hair and definitely a down south New Orleans drawl. Very friendly and very good at his job. They had an older gentleman, singing lounge music in the back. Anything from old blues to old country to old rock. It definitely had an old-time lounge vibe with the red lights and music. The food was excellent!

Absolutely the best food in town. Start your journey with homemade bread and marinated crab claws. We chose a ribeye steak with Joe sauce. Divine perfection. Their steak is so tender. As our side we chose a twice baked potato and they offer a sour cream sauce that compliments the potato. They have so many items to choose from. We just found what we like. They have steaks, Italian, appetizers, desserts, and a bar for those who like to partake. Earnest is always consistent with their food. Everytime we dine here its exactly the same as before. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. You’ll be glad you did!! We’ve celebrated our 30th and 31st anniversary here. Cant wait to celebrate our 32nd. We’ve found a new tradition.

if you’re passing through sheveport, this would be the first place i’d recommend. the place has it all: oldschool charm, incredible service and exceptional food. fresh bread and butter is served with every plate that comes out. be sure to try their signature dish, the marinated crab claws, you will be back for more.

The food at this Italian/Creole restaurant has been satisfying Shreveport & visiting patrons for years and has not disappointed! The food & service are ***** five stars! We were there for our Valentine’s Day meal and all was amazing! After appetizers which included fried mushrooms w/an incredible horseradish sauce & red dipping sauce, fried shrimp, Earnest Famous Marinated Crab Claws (big & wonderful) and ‘Red Pepper & Gouda soup’ which was Devine, I had the Snapper Earnest w/crab topping (UMM GOOD), my bride had Steak Filet medium which she described as wonderful, & one of our guests had a huge bowl of Shrimp Scampi with a great number of Jumbo Shrimp, she loved it (took 1/2 home for lunch)! There was no room for dessert sad to say! We thoroughly enjoyed our night at Ernest’s Supper Club!!!

Ernest Orleans is an institution in Shreveport/ Bossier. Seated just south of downtown, it is the premiere destination for special events, birthdays, date nights, or just a nice night out.

The Club Room features an intimate ambience with a bar that could’ve been plucked right out of a high- end restaurant in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Frequently there is live music featured. A full dinner menu is also served so you can either enjoy an appetizer for a quick visit, or enjoy multicourse meal. If you want a more traditional dining experience, the dining room is beautiful and busy as well.

Those who frequent the restaurant know the first thing to order is fried shrimp and crab claw appetizers. Many often order this before even looking at the menu.

While it is known for seafood and delicious prime steaks, their Italian food is fantastic as well. Many Shreveport gourmands consider this one of the best spaghetti and meatball dishes in the city. Service is top notch as well. Mr. Ernest also frequently leaves the kitchen to interact with his patrons. It is said he personally expects every dish before it leaves the kitchen. If you’re not completely stuffed after your meal, bananas fosters prepared table side is great way to end your evening!

Boy, I was not sure about this restaurant when my wife and I walked in and sat down. We ordered the 10 oz Ernestos Petite Club. Wow, the steak was perfectly cooked, and it was delicious . We took home another meal practically. This was the largest 10 oz steak I’ve ever seen! My only complaint would be turn down the air conditioner it was very ! Made it hard to really sit and enjoy the meal. Otherwise, this off the beaten path is well worth the trip! We will come back next time we’re in Shreveport.

Our party was ‘ernestly’ disappointed.

We found the service lacking as we didn’t even get food menus until 30 minutes after being seated.

When paying $55 for an entree plus a $15 upcharge for literally any other side than a plain baked potato, I would expect the quality and preparation of entrees to be exemplary, but they were not. The snapper was very over salted and I am someone who typically likes a good bit of salt.

I was also shocked that the shrimp appetizers ordered totaling just 14 pieces cost over a hundred dollars… For 14 fried shrimp… Over $7 a piece.

We had plenty of time to look at the historical decor of the dining area which was nice and on arrival had us excited thinking we would receive an outstanding experience, but the food, service, and price was in no way up to par. So, the hope and optimism we had when being seated steadily shifted to disappointment and regret through our meal.

Perhaps it was because we didn’t go on a weekend so the ‘A’ team wasn’t working, but in any case the experience was so far off base we will not be returning nor would I recommend this place to anyone in town. Our next night in town we got a much higher quality meal for almost half of what we paid here.

We went (5 of us) for valentines we were there for 3 hours. The waitress was so bad we sat there the first hour-bread and water-no drinks. The waitress didn’t even take our food order until we were there an hour and half. When we got our food 2 1/2 hours later it was Luke warm. I had started feeling weird after the crab claws. I could not eat the food when it finally arrived. My head felt like it could blow up from the headache and the back of my neck was hurting. I was sick for 3 days. No one else in our party got sick. The ticket was incorrect as well as 3 other couples came to our table to get their ticket-she had left on our table with her phone. They had been there as long as us. One couple said they ask for crab meat on their steak. The steak originally was 57$. They charged the couple 115$ each for their steak so the crab meat was 57$ more each !! They were floored. So our bill was over 200$ and the food was not good and service was the worst. Needless to say we won’t be back and I doubt the other customers will be either -not a good Valentine day!!

My husband and I are not returning to this establishment. I was really disappointed. Not only was the food nasty, our party had to wait about two hours before they seated our party, even though we had a reservation. Our waitress even sucked! Such a bad experience for my sister’s birthday. Never again!
The food was beyond HORRIBLE!!! Quality does NOT meet the price amount at all!
