This brought me back to older Italian restaurants growing up. Good is solid. Better than chains but its not the best you’ve ever had. Service is good and personable. Really enjoyed their cannoli.
Give it a try. It’s a great spot for a family dinner and portions are a good size. Most like will have left overs.

You get some cold greeting at the front desk, no cheerful hello how ya doing kind of thing. I’ve been to the bar once, the bartender did not know how to make a Manhattan. Oops! I know it’s an Italian restaurant but it’s one of the most popular cocktails in Merica. Bit of commercial style inside the dinning area. More crowded around the early hours of 6ish pm. I have not tried all but the pastas in general are okay. Seafood pasta and the veal one are better than others. Eggplant parmesan a bit on the dry side. Italian roasted chicken also dry and not so herby. Wine selection probably getting worse. They don’t have any Primitivo or Zin on the menu. Ouch! Some cheap Cab and Valpolicella. I like Nonna Emilia better for its atmosphere and food quality. I would try again but I have not found my favorite dish here so far. I would have rated 3.5 instead of 4 stars which is generous on my side here.

The service was great. The atmosphere is pleasant.
The food was great. Don’t fill up on the bread like I did.
Calamari has the perfect amount of fluffy and fluffy texture.
Lasagna was full of flavor and had a good amount of meat in the sauce.
Spaghetti must have been good. The kids ate it so fast. I had almost forgotten what he ordered.
The seafood in Alfredo was decent. I would’ve liked more cheese flavor.
Over all it a place worth going to over and over again.

Cute hole in the wall with great menu and drinks. They offer my favorite Chianti, and have good cocktails. The waitress was very friendly and patient. Very pleasant atmosphere, a nice place to eat whether for a date, family dinner, or just for some great Italian food. Ordered the chili, minestrone, potato skins, beef ravioli and spaghetti carbonara, it was all delicious. Will be returning. 10/10

Actually attended Ernesto’s for a company party. The restaurant itself is cozy and clean, amazing atmosphere. My dad and I practically devoured the buffet style catering they set up, quite literally everything we touched was delicious. He and I want to come back as regular customers, but even the event staff was attentive and absolutely killed it with excellent service. With a full house in the front too, from what I gathered! I can happily vouch for the event hosting and catering services, as a piezon myself. ❤️

If you enjoy a lot of sauce on your dish this is the spot. They made delicious marinara sauce and the pasta is good. I enjoy this place because of this bar section that is separated from the rest of the restaurant. I watched a soccer match and was able to enjoy my food.
I wouldn’t say this is in the best bites of Portland but it’s a real solid choice. If you are looking for a great place to chill and have good food without having to drive into town then this is the spot.

I want to start out with saying that places like this are truly hard to find these days. I made reservations for my birthday dinner online with my family. My kids are older so they rarely pay attention to their old mom anymore. I was looking forward to this dinner all week. We have never been to Ernesto’s and were super excited to try it out. When we arrived our reservation never got added to the list. The manager lady made it right for us when I showed her the confirmation email. She got us a table quickly and gave me the most sincere apology ever. She truly cared. I felt so bad about the whole thing cause she turned it around and made it amazing. Our waiter was hilarious. We absolutely loved his sense of humor. It was like his sense of humor matched perfectly with ours. The manager bought me one of my glasses of wine for the mix up. The food was amazing. When we went to leave I made sure to stop to say goodbye to the manager. We just walked up to each other and immediately hugged. She wished me a happy birthday and apologized again. I would recommend that if you make reservations online with them to call and confirm them. She also said to do that next time we book. If you want a lame franchise experience then go elsewhere. If you want a wholesome ma and pa type of experience then go here! It’s worth it! I promise!
As someone who constantly works to provide the best experience to my clients I always appreciate seeing other people do the same. It’s something that’s so hard to find these days. They truly made repeat customers out of us. We will go back often! Thank you Ernesto’s for making my birthday dinner amazing!

This was the second time I’ve been to Ernesto’s. The first time was late 2020 so dine in wasn’t an option, but they had takeout, which I enjoyed. One great thing is that I cannot eat cheese, thankfully there are plenty of choices that don’t have cheese.
This time that I went, I was celebrating a milestone with my wife, which was great. There a PLENTY of options from the menu, I would probably say that there are too many. But if you’re looking for the classical Italian restaurant with the choices of food, ambience, and feel, this is the place. They are not the big chains like Olive Garden or The Old Spaghetti Factory, but they have to compete with them. Thankfully, they do.
Everything you order includes unlimited Focaccia bread. But here is where there is a dilemma; the hearty bread is served plain. There’s no sauce, or even butter. Now you probably don’t need any more fat in the focaccia, but the bread is still plenty dry without something to come along with it. I did order a bowl of marinara, which was delicious, but just for that was an additional $3. Also, the prices in the menu are either incomplete or incorrect.
I ordered Ravioli and Spaghetti, while she ordered Chicken Alfredo. Per the paper menu, it should have cost $19. But the bill came out to $20 each… It’s a small thing, but as a customer, it’s not very conducive to bringing me back. Even at the $19 price, that included a soup or salad, so I think the price is justified (Bread, Soup/salad, and entree).
The environment is like a classic sit down restaurant, and so many of these chains really don’t understand the need for the feel and ambiance that a restaurant like this offers. If you like Italian food, then it’s worth trying. But just know, it’s not cheap. The food was delicious, the service was good, the ambiance is unique, and the location is out of the way . Take that however you want.

Great lunch buffet. Food is good. Pretty atmosphere, has banquet hall and multiple dinning rooms. Friendly Wait staff. Also has a bar, with happy hour at 3pm. The main menu is a little pricey. Great selection of wine. They host many parties and banquets

Garbage stale bread very small portions. I ordered a large pasta made your way. It looks like it was the size of a microwave oven meal. You’re better off ordering from the spaghetti factory. You’ll get better portions especially if you’re paying for takeout. I’m tempted to drive to the store and return it I’m so annoyed.
