Great food and such a nice staff! Small, cozy place with plenty of parking at the Glen Head train station. Can’t believe I haven’t been until now. Really good menu. The stuffed artichoke, tender, lemony chicken & veal francese, and bolognese special made with chicken/veal/pork/duck were all delicious! Look forward to coming back, especially to try all the dishes with the name Ernesto’s in it.

The owner is absolutely lovely, accommodating, and has impeccable attention to detail. The food is WONDERFUL! VERY lucky to be accommodated for dinner without a reservation on a Holiday! It was short staffed yesterday, but it was absolutely worth the wait for our food. Atmosphere could use updates, but adds to the feeling of being in your grandma’s house. A must try for delicious food!

Ernesto’s is a north shore treasure and our family’s favorite restaurant! We have been been going there since 2006 when Ernie and his wife owned it. We have enjoyed countless outstanding meals at Ernesto’s with our friends and extended family.

We’ve lived here for 11 years and never tried Ernesto’s. We went last night for our anniversary and couldn’t have been more happily surprised. The food was fantastic and the service was great. We’re going to make up for lost time by heading to Ernesto’s whenever family or friends are in town. What a gem for Glen Head; so glad we’ve discovered it finally. We recommend this place heartily – but it’s an intimate setting so make sure to check for a table or make reservations before you go.

Food is excellent. Service and owner were terrible. A meal came out wrong TWICE. The second time, the owner said “I know what the tortellini looks like, are you sure that’s what you ordered?”. Yes, I also know what tortellini looks like
Complimented a bus boy and owner said “he’s the slowest one we have”. If your slowest worker is your best worker what does that tell you?!?
Also, desert and drinks came wrong as well. Nothing comped for errors on $330 check. May order take out but will never dine in again.

Lovely place, very quaint with a cool history of being a German butcher shop originally. We happened to stop in on a Thursday after being recommended by local friends. Dylan (the owner) was lovely along with the rest of the staff being attentive. Ceasar salad to split, the Tortellini Ernesto (no peas, substituted with mushrooms) and the Chicken Milanese. There was enough for leftovers! And the tiramisu that we took to go was by far the BEST both of us had ever had.

Some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. It’s a old school restaurant and I strongly recommend everyone make time to get here. The service is great as is the whiskey offerings, which was a pleasant surprise at an Italian place.

Our first time out, after finally being vaccinated, Ernestos East did not disappoint. Dylan and his crew were spot on. Warm friendly atmosphere. Staff was attentive but not overbearing. Chilean sea bass special was out of this world. The mussels in white wine were fresh and amazing. Chicken sorrentino awesome and There is a secret item not on the menu. Ask about it, it’s great. Can’t wait to go back.
