Everything that I have tried at Ernes (pronounced urn-ess) Mexican Food and Breakfast had been a step above Mexican restaurants in the area. The owner is always friendly and cordial. I will often purchase a taco of some sort and enjoy it while doing my laundry next door.

The mariachi burrito is uniquely amazing entree. Carne asada cooked with chorizo and rolled into a large tortilla with beans, cheese, sour cream, abd guacamole. And it’s BIG! All variations off the tacos have been delicious. The pollo asada torta was even better than I had hoped.

I hope that whatever you try at Ernes is as good as it was for me.

Randomly chose this place and it was so good!! Service was quick and place was clean. I ordered the chilaquiles verde and they did not skimp on sauce or portion size! Was spicy and flavorful, the red was also yummy and spicy. My family got the asada burrito and said it was really tasty and again the portion size was great! Would definitely eat here again if I’m in the area again.

This is best taco shop in the San Marcos/Vista area! I was a Neto’s regular for many years and their food dipped in quality over time, then improved, then dipped again. I was very curious how it would be with new ownership and a new name, and I can say that Ernes is incredible, better than Neto’s ever was! The flavors, the presentation, the generous portions, the amazing salsa bar! I can’t praise it enough. So far I’ve had the carne asada and the fish tacos, so so good. Looking forward to trying more of the menu.

It’s a small location.
Food can be better for a mexican place, need more seasoning and a little more flavor, I got the beef chimichanga I think it need it salsa fresca on top, I pay extra for the guacamole and added green an red sause to make it taste better. The salsas need more spicy and flavor as well, little to blend for my taste. Good portion. Probably will come back just to check other items on the menu.

Made a spur of the moment decision to eat here and was not disappointed. The mar y tierra burrito had generous portions of fresh jumbo shrimp along with carne asada and guac. Salsa bar was clearly freshly made as well. Definitely coming back! Looks like recent ownership change between Neto’s.

My coworker love love this place because he say they cook everything fresh, so a month ago he order french fries with beef on top of it for us to try and by the time we got it, it was soggy already. So on 10/21/21 we went and it was good. I order a California burrito and it came out fresh n hot. He order 3 roll taco n the french fries with beef again. It was all good, but nothing special here because it just like any other taco shop. Not unique enough for the 4 star. Food were good. No free water, so you have to buy a bottle of water from them. Their sauces were good too.

Fantastic spot! I got the bean, cheese, and egg burrito- a great deal at $7. It was hot, fresh, and delicious. The salsa bar had a fantastic variety, all of which were good. I will definitely be back!

Heard this place was a hidden gem and I can now say it truly is. I’ve gone in the last 2 weekends and am still impressed. First time I had the roll tacos and they were delicious. They were super crunchy but not burnt, the toppings were perfect. The salsas were flavorful and if you like spicy food they have grilled chiles and cebolla. The next time I went in I tried the chorizo breakfast burrito and I can say it was one of the best ones I’ve had. The chorizo was not overly greasy and the egg was perfectly cooked. The burrito comes with fries, cheese, and beans, but I am not a fan of beans in burritos so I asked for it without and it was not an issue. I have found my new go to mexican food spot. I think I will go back and try their menudo this weekend.
