Every visit has been nothing less than amazing. The food, inviting atmosphere, at both locations, has made me a loyal customer. Blessings and much success to the owner and team! ❤️

The people were friendly and so was the atmosphere!
I got shrimp and grits and my brother got the chicken and waffles; although the presentation was on point the grits for my shrimp and grits were a little cold by the time I got them and the waffle felt a little too heavy as though the Ingredients didn’t come together for the chicken and waffles. We also got a side of Mac and cheese which was delicious! We finished it within what felt likeseconds!

I have done a Google Review in a long time, even though I have over 15 millions views Oh! I had to do this one for Emma’s, it was the first time I had dinner with my husband and son, and it would not be the last, because I will be returning, when I crave Jamaican Food, it was the best… the owner was very friendly, I was served with a big smile. The service was quick and efficient and the portion size was nice as you can see the plate was running over.. I ordered Jerk Chicken and Ralph order grill Salmon. It was finger licking good with the sauce, man it was delicious. It was a relaxing atmosphere, watching the traffic and catching up with my son.

We love Erma’s Island and are so excited to learn about the opening of Erma’s Bistro on Clinton Square! When we first moved to Syracuse, I was so thrilled to come across authentic Jamaican food. First we tried all the patties (they’re all delicious, but the beef is my fave), then it was entrees (the jerk chicken burrito is a must), followed by breakfast items (jerk chicken and waffles on Sundays are delicious and the presentation is beautiful). I sometimes eat vegetarian, and the coconut curry is an absolute dream. My husband loves the oxtail. All the rice dishes are layered with flavor and beautifully presented.
Erma’s Island serves delicious, well-priced Jamaican food in Syracuse! We’ll continue to visit the Salt City Market location and look forward to dining in at the Bistro. Genuinely so happy about this expansion.

This was hands down some of the best food I’ve had in Syracuse. The jerk chicken and waffles paired together perfectly, and each part could easily stand on its own. The Oxtail and Grits was also beyond amazing and was another perfect pairing. If you come to Syracuse, you HAVE to come and try the food here, and if you’re in Salt City market and you don’t get food here, you’re missing out. I will be coming back and bringing as many people as I can

The BEST Jamaican food I’ve ever eaten!
Travelled to Syracuse from Canada and came across their restaurant by accident. Hands-down the best I’ve ever eaten. The chef is truly a genius to combine waffles and fruit with savoury fried chicken – never had a combination like that before and I loved it. My mom had Jerk Chicken Rasta Pasta – it was truly delicious too; had a smoky cheesy taste to it!
The presentation/plating was done beautifully too I truly love it when business owners take time to show their love for their talent. You absolutely deserve the recognition

We decided to try Erma’s Island one day while we were out. We had never been to Salt City Market before, so we were new to it. I went up to the counter and ordered our food, paid, and was told to sit down. We did just that. It was pretty early, before lunch rush, and very quiet. There was a small group of three sitting next to us, who were getting their food prepared. They were served within ten minutes. We were expecting ours to come out next, but suddenly they had a rush of three or four people ordering. Well, we continued to sit there while everyone else ordered and got their food. We waited an hour! I finally got up and asked if they forgot about us, and suddenly the guy who took my order said yes, and they rushed to make it. At that point I was frustrated, but we ate and left. The food was good; however, we won’t be returning . The wait and lack of acknowledgment for a paying customer was shocking. The bigger parties took precedence over our smaller order, and we left feeling like we didn’t matter. Update:
Thank you for your response. I appreciate the explanation regarding the buzzer system. While our visit was frustrating at the time, we did enjoy the food and mainly hoped for acknowledgment during the wait. I’m glad to hear that our experience isn’t the norm. We will visit again soon.

Erma’s is my go to at Salt City. The food is always fresh, excellent flavor, great presentation, timely, and reasonably priced in today’s market. You get plenty of food and variety if you purchase one of the main dishes. I’ve been numerous times with all excellent experiences.
