My partner and I had our first date at the EG seven years ago, so in an uncharacteristically sentimental moment, I made reservations for us to eat there this past weekend. (We’ve eaten there a few times in the interim, but this was our most recent visit, just to clarify.) We’ve always enjoyed the quality of the service, the overall atmosphere and, until this last visit, the dinner cuisine. The Reader’s Digest version: Tasty Old Fashioned cocktail for me, a vodka highball with a barely detectable hint of vodka for her. Very good French Onion soup and good white chicken chili for apps. Our crab cakes were … fair – not a lot of filler, but a bit bland and underseasoned. Very good carrot cake for dessert, accompanied by very good hot coffee. Now, the cautionary part: If you eat dinner here, I’d strongly suggest you skip the $36 wagyu meatloaf – we agreed it was underseasoned, with an unappetizing texture (dense and chewy, more reminiscent of forcemeat than meatloaf), served with a decent Espagnole sauce that provided badly-needed moisture, and containing a few bits of what I can only surmise was incompletely ground gristle. It really missed the mark, especially at that price, in an otherwise good restaurant. We’ll be back, of course – it’s not as though this particular meal was the norm in our experience, rather than the exception – but if this was how the wagyu meatloaf is typically prepared and served, it needs work. Our server, Hanna, was professional, efficient and friendly. One other criticism: The dining room chairs are quite short – unless you’re a six-footer or taller, prepare for your tabletop to be awkwardly high.

This used to be our favorite when visiting Pittsford. We’ve been coming to Erie Grill for over 10 years. The food, the service and the atmosphere was always exceptional. After this last visit we won’t back. To say it was horrible experience would be an understatement. I order the duo of crab cakes. ($45) They came out cold. I sent them back to heat them up. They got it right the second time round. The soup was also very good. Next the panko chicken was like dried out plank and burnt on one side. I hate sending food back but it was inedible. The second one wasn’t much better. When you spend $200 on dinner it should be perfect. There was no apology, no offer to discount the bill – we didn’t even get a good night. All we got was the doors locking behind us and the curtains drawn. It wasn’t even late. If you don’t want to service customers you shouldn’t even open. Thoroughly disappointed No pride in service or food quality. Such a shame.

The place was beautiful. We went on a Saturday with a reservation. We had four of the signature dishes. They all were pretty good. If you are looking for American cuisine this is a good place. The waitress who served us was a bit grumpy and we thought may be that because we were Asian. But I think she was not smiling with any of her customers.

Haven’t been here in a few years but I returned last night to find everything is still excellent. The food was incredible from the duck meatballs to the waygu meatloaf and raspberry creme brulee. Our server Matt was spot on. I’ll remember to come back more often!

We had the most wonderful experience at Erie Grill on Christmas Eve. We came in last minute with our family, and despite how busy the night was, the entire staff was incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and kind, they truly made us feel taken care of from the moment we arrived.

A special thank you to Matt K, who went above and beyond to make our evening unforgettable. His warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality stood out. When he overheard that it was my mom’s birthday the next day, he gifted us dessert, such a thoughtful gesture that meant so much to our family.

Between the exceptional service, amazing food, and a team that clearly cares, Erie Grill made our Christmas Eve truly special. We can’t wait to return!

This restaurant is inside the hotel.

The service was pretty good except the waitress accidentally threw out our order. So though it’s cool she took accountability, it definitely prolonged the stay unfortunately.

The food, or at least what I tried, wasn’t anything to RAVE about but everything was good.

Bottomline: Quality, ambiance and reasonably priced. A gem waiting to be discovered.

During a recent family outing, we had the pleasure of dining at Erie Grill for breakfast. The experience was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the stage for a delightful meal. The decor is tasteful and inviting, offering a serene atmosphere that’s a cut above the typical chain restaurant.

The breakfast options were varied and delicious. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, and the quality was evident in every bite. The service was attentive and friendly, contributing to an overall enjoyable dining experience.

One of the standout features of Erie Grill is the stunning view. Overlooking the serene river, the restaurant offers a picturesque setting that’s perfect for a relaxing meal. It’s a refreshing change from the generic ambiance of chain eateries.

Overall, Erie Grill delivers exceptional quality and ambiance at a price comparable to IHOP. We would definitely go back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a superior dining experience without breaking the bank. Staff was pleasant too.

Wow!! This place is a secret. Tucked behind a hotel is this five star delight.

The menu has so many incredible options we had a difficult time deciding. We ended up ordering the specials (lamb wellington and seabass) so we could come back and enjoy the regular menu options. Everything from the appetizers to drinks was perfection. Excellent pairing of flavors. So impressed!

If you’re a foodie, give this place a chance!

Gabriel the bartender, thank you for being so inviting with a smile upon stopping in! Great happy hour and what an upscale ambiance with even a nice view of the Erie canal. Please do stop into this hotel bar! I did not eat here so I do not know about the food. The bar is very clean!

We usually have a flawless meal here, but last night, it was lacking a little. The soup was just ok, and the beet salad, which was overdressed in balsamic vinegar, now only has 1 goat cheese medallion My husband ordered a filet MW, and it was very pink inside, but it was still delicious. The chips with onion dip are simple but fabulous.
