I have visited this establishment three or more times. The three visits were all great experiences. I suggest you call ahead to confirm this mountain Asian restaurant is open. Many people choose to use parking spots at the front entrance. I prefer the large parking lot in the rear of the restaurant for my truck to park comfortably.
The restaurant has a bar with hot Sake, beers and cocktails. I encourage you to try the fresh hot salty edamame delicious. The sauce on the chicken wings made the dish yummy. I tried not the eat the pan fried dumplings and gyoza so quickly. They always are my favorite appetizers.
When it is snowing outside I crave the wonton soup extra wontons and egg drop soup. The egg drop has corn, peas, and the perfect ribbons of eggs. I tried something different Tropical Fried Rice it was amazing. My go to is the chicken basil with fried rice.
One time I ordered Togo and biked down Virginia Canyon Rd. What a beautiful time for a bike ride while the Aspens were changing to gold. It was a rememberable romantic asian cuisine picnic. Great job Eric, see you next time.

Delicious and nutritious. My wife loves fresh vegetables so she’s a little hard to please. I had the sesame chicken and loved it. She had the vegetable lo mein and was absolutely impressed with the variety of fresh vegetables on her plate. The price is amazing too. Great food great quality! Great service!

I had been wanting to try Eric’s Asian Cafe for a while now. Idaho Springs Safeway is the closest chain supermarket to where I live in Gilpin County, so I pass by Eric’s a couple of times a month. I finally made the effort to go there for lunch yesterday. The food was DELICIOUS! I had one of their lunch specials which included sesame tofu w/ white rice and egg rolls. The egg rolls arrived first and were piping hot and super delicious, qty of 2 comes with the lunch special. Then came the sesame tofu – see the perfectly sized lunch portion picture. It had a bit more vinegar and the tofu cubes a bit softer than I’m used to from other restaurants for this dish, but it was still very tasty – I liked the extra tang and the softer texture did not bother me at all! The tofu came on a bed of freshly steamed veggies – they still had a slight crispness to them, so definitely not over steamed. I can’t even explain just how fresh the vegetables were – I was pleasantly surprised! There was more of the wonderful sauce “under” the vegetables, so the only thing that came coated in the sauce was the tofu – great presentation and allowed me to mix the veggies in as much or as little sauce as I wanted. White rice is white rice, but it complimented the plate well! Since I only had water to drink, my bill total was under $10!!!
The table was very clean, the only issue with the atmosphere was that there must have been chimney smoke back up in the fireplace located in the corner at some point. Lots of black soot on the ceiling and on the brick fireplace surround. It did not smell like smoke in there, so it must have happened a while ago. Some fresh paint for the ceiling and bucket of suds for the brick surround would fix it right up! It didn’t bother me, but I would be remiss not to mention it.
Great food, friendly host/waiter and all for a great lunch price! You can’t go wrong!! Open daily, 11am – 9pm! Thank you for a great meal – I’ll be back soon!!

I’ve read reviews complaining about the rudity, but I think the owner directness js misunderstood. I’m vegetarian and the owner was thoughtful to prepare a vegetarian pho for me and cared about how I’d like the food cooked. He was sincere and the meal tasted really good.

Eric, are you okay? Serious question.
I love unique. I love quirky. I love hole-in-the-wall dives. I love offbeat. You know what I *won’t* put up with? Rudeness.
Ate here today, upon walking in was greeted enthusiastically and then it was like a switch was flipped. Server (owner? Eric?) got monosyllabic, like something out of the Twilight Zone. Super strange vibe, should’ve bailed after the egg drop soup was set down on the table.
All the reviews prior to mine mentioning the exact same experience are GOSPEL, and I wish I had heeded their warnings. With the food being mid at best, keep driving, even if it means getting your Asian fix closer to Denver. 0/10, would not E.A.C. again.

Place was quiet with not to many patrons, we were asked to sit wherever we wanted. Atmosphere was nice. Menu options were typical Chinese restaurant. We were served, food looked delicious. Chicken was a little unseasoned even tho it was covered in sauce. Only negative comment is they use MSG so if you have an intolerance you could ask for them not to use it otherwise you may be in for an awful experience. Prices were a reasonable for two people.

Honestly, I did not expect to find delicious Asian food in Idaho Springs, Co, but here it is. Don’t hesitate to come here, it is YUMMY. There was a TV with sports on, a cozy fireplace in the corner, and excellent service. 10/10 recommend. Lots of delicious food on the menu.
Come here after a long day skiing/snowboarding!
