The food here is fantastic and the fries are crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. There was great fried chicken and make sure to take some of the marinade sauce for it it hits the spot. I had a deeply upsetting experience at EQUIS Pica Pollo while picking up an Uber Eats order that contained three deliveries combined into one.
I was made to wait over 30 minutes. During that time, I was repeatedly told “3 minutes,” yet I watched other customers and drivers who arrived after me get helped first. I was blatantly ignored. It was very clear that I was being treated differently because I am not Latino.
This felt like open and blatant racism. There was visible preferential treatment given to Latino customers and drivers while I was dismissed and left waiting with no accountability. The only reason I finally received the order was because another Uber Eats driver stood up for me and demanded that they give me the pickup.
This is unacceptable in 2026. Every driver and customer deserves equal treatment and basic respect, regardless of race or language. There are many other Latino restaurants on this street that are welcoming, professional, and inclusive. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this place to anyone who expects fair and respectful service.

Guys best pica pollo I’ve eaten in my life, coming from a Dominican. The place is also super clean. Portions are big. And the best part the chicken, which might sound odd but it doesn’t have that chicken flavor that unwashed chicken meat normally has. Service is super fast. I’ve seen a couple comments saying that the service was bad but to me it was straight to the point. In regards of eating there, first is Paterson so you might not find parking, and so many people go to take out that it doesn’t really give seating down vibes. But honestly I can’t ask for more!! I wish I could give zero stars. The lack of customer service here is unacceptable. I was clearly next in line, yet I was deliberately ignored while others who had just arrived were helped first. I attempted to get the staff’s attention and was dismissed. If you don’t speak Spanish, you are treated as if you don’t matter. I took my business elsewhere and will never return. Completely disrespectful and unprofessional.

Chicken is good, the best I had so far but the customer service is horrible. “Some” of the women working there look like they don’t want to be there.
