Atmosphere was beautiful. Temperature was a bit chilly. French passion drink was delicious. Angry lobster appetizer was tasty with a spicy kick. Braised short rib was tender and flavorful. Paid extra to substitute the potatoes with the cream corn risotto. It was creamy and sweet. The Brussel sprouts were yummy. Didn’t expect them to be shredded. Wasn’t crazy about that but still very tasty. Key lime pie was divine.

Last night, I dined at Epic Chophouse in Brier Creek with two friends. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, and the ambiance was great. Our server was kind, attentive, and responsive, which we truly appreciated. Unfortunately, several issues throughout the evening left us disappointed.
Before arriving, we reviewed the menu online, but once seated we quickly realized the in-house menu did not match what was advertised online. That was our first red flag.
We ordered drinks, and I started with a Black Walnut Old Fashioned. The server asked if I wanted it smoked, and I said yes only to later discover on my bill that there was a $3 upcharge for the smoked option. I then ordered a second drink, the Maple & Flame, which was also smoked and again came with a $3 charge. My issue isn’t the fee itself, but the fact that the additional charge was never mentioned upfront when I was asked if I wanted the drinks smoked.
When our entrées arrived, everyone at the table noticed that certain items looked overly charred. I ordered the 104 Ribeye. While I’m no stranger to a good char on a steak, I am a stranger to a steak with a burnt aftertaste. I mentioned this to the server, who implied that was how it was supposed to taste since the steaks are grilled. A manager later came over and echoed the same explanation. I politely explained that while grilling can add char, a steak should never taste like the tools used to cook it. I chose to replace my steak with a NY Strip, which ended up being underwhelming.
For dessert, we ordered two one to share at the table and one to take home. The cookie skillet we shared was also disappointing, as the consistency and flavor didn’t quite come together.
When we received our checks, we noticed a 20% gratuity automatically added to a party of three. The gratuity itself wasn’t the issue it was, again, the lack of transparency. If a 20% gratuity is added to every check, that should be clearly stated in writing for guests to see ahead of time.
Overall, we made the best of the evening, but Epic Chophouse needs to do a better job with menu accuracy, transparency around added fees, and the overall quality, taste, and presentation of their food. Based on this experience, the restaurant didn’t live up to the expectations set by its reputation.

Best steakhouse in the area! Our server Michael was phenomenal and full of recommendations. He provided suggestions for our first time and every single one was on point! The steaks were melt in the mouth goodness, the Brussels sprouts had the perfect balance of sweet and salty and the pecan caramel cheesecake was decadent! I will definitely be back!

5 star experience all across the board. This place is absolutely gorgeous! I’ve been to the one in Mooresville N.C.. but this one really takes the cake. The staff was incredible. Our waitress Sierra was perfection and the FOOD! It could not have been any better. The martinis were fantastic as well. Zero complaints, all smiles. Already made my next reservation. This place is simply awesome.

Relatively newer upscale restaurant in the Brier Creek Area, does justice to the Epic in the name…

Was there for my birthday last week, and the service and food were top notch…

We tried the Shanghai Shrimp and Wagyu Meatballs to start… For entrees we ordered the
Smoking Hot couple – Filet Mignon Medallions, Gulf Shrimp in a smokey Cajun sauce, pan seared with herbed butter sauce and Creole remoulade, served with Loaded Baked Potato and of course the Legendary Beef Wellington – Filet Mignon wellington medium rare, enveloped with Duxelle and puff pastry…

On the cocktail front, we tried the Black Walnut Old Fashioned – small batch Bourbon, black walnut syrup, bitters and bing cherry and Sweater weather – rum, spiced syrup, lemon juice, cranberry, ginger beer…

Everything was fantastic and the triple decker cake at the end was a nice gesture…

15/10 Where do I start, the food was amazing! My daughters took me here for my birthday and the atmosphere was just right for a celebration. I had the Ribeye with a Demi glaze sauce, added the garlic butter with the mushrooms, shrimp and crab cake minus the remoulade sauce. Just delicious!! The Carmel Cheesecake was the end all of my epic night!!! A must try for your special occasion!!

Epic Chop House was AMAZING! I didn’t even know it was there as I don’t go to Brier Creek often. Nonetheless, the food and especially the service from Tara were phenomenal!!! I thoroughly enjoyed myself! We stayed a little longer after close and they didn’t even make a big deal about it! It’s surely a place I will frequent again for birthday celebrations or just a simple night out! As far as parking goes it’s Brier Creek so you know how that goes. Get in where you can. I caught an Uber so it was fine. That’s really the only downside. Other than that it’s well worth the time and money! I really hope nothing changes.
