The atmosphere, drinks, environment, and food was awesome, but what made the day was our server/bartender Kayla whom made it worth while. She is the definition of customer satisfaction. Great conversation, splendid aura, and beautiful attitude. She goes above and beyond to make your first time here or returning worth while. Her focus is a mission to make you feel at home. This is definitely the main reason I will return.

First time there and we will be back! Our server Naya is a lovely young lady and we enjoyed her energy. She moved a table for us and we sat upstairs which was nice because we got to take in the artwork and enjoyed the vibe. She recommended the rasta pasta and salmon salad, both were soooooo good! It’s a black-owned hidden gem in Newark & we love that!

Dope!!!! If you haven’t been, please go! I had the calamari, bang bang shrimp and the ribeye with garlic mash potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious!!! Please visit and enjoy the ambiance. We ordered the white sangria pitcher. Our waitress Kayla was so attentive, friendly and polite. This was my first visit and I will definitely return. Parking isn’t the best but you will find a spot after some time. Jump in a uber and make your life easier lol the DJ was so good! DJ Hollywood had me dancing in my seat.

I met a friend for food and drinks. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted and sat at the bar. Nana was our bartender. I ordered the vodka martini, and it was good. For food, I ordered the vodka penne with shrimp. My friend got the rasta pasta and chicken. My penne had a hair in it so of course I didn’t eat it. My friend’s rasta pasta was good. All in all, it was just ok.

Great vibe for a chill spot with great food, service and drinks! They have hookah and DJ’s. Good vibes. Came here three times already and ended my night here all three times. Atmosphere is great and staff is amazing especially the bar. Can’t wait to see how football season turns out.
I’ve had the salmon with mash potatoes, chicken quesadilla and my drink patron sour. I’ve came back and tried the empanadas and the honey lemon pepper wings – soooo good and juicy!
Only downside is the 18% automatic gratuity on all bills even for a party of one. Other than that love it. Another “go-to” spot.

Start on a Positive note – The art work was extremely colorful and upbeat.
First visit and most likely my last. I went here to help a friend celebrate her birthday. I arrived an hour early because I traveled from Waterbury, CT. There was some initial confusion as to whether there was a 7:00 p.m. reservation. ♀️ Thereafter, a friendly server offered me a seat, a drink and a menu, the basics. I was the only patron here at this point. About 45 minutes into my wait for the 7:00 p.m. reservation, other patrons trickled in. I noticed a few ladies to my right eating tacos. I immediately inquired of the waitress, as I did not see tacos listed on the menu that I was given. I was informed that the establishment was low on taco shells and thus I needed to place an order NOW if I wanted tacos. ♀️ I declined, since I was there for a 7:00 p.m. reservation. I didn’t want to be rude and order before my birthday friend’s guests arrived.
Upon being seated at our table, we ordered drinks and one of us attempted to order cod fish fritters, however it was out of stock. ♀️ My friend’s friends enjoyed the empanadas but the calamari was “tough.”
While the server was very friendly, she was the only server on staff which was reflected in the service that we received. Again, she was very nice. The food was just ok. I ordered the NY strip served with asparagus and a side of mixed veggies and what seemed to be reheated frozen potato squares. My birthday friend’s Shish kabob looked amazing- she said it was tasty but it wasn’t hot. As a regular diner who drove almost three hours to dine here, I found the dining experience to be a huge disappointment. Fortunately, I wasn’t very hungry. However, I am thankful for the great company and friendly server.
Verdict- On a Friday night, the “happy hour” taco shells should be overstocked. The server should not have had to work solo- she was hustling and bustling up/down the steps, which probably contributed to the warm food and slow service. Our appetizer plates weren’t cleared until after we started eating our warm dinner. This is a FAIL for me.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Envy Bar and Grille and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The blend of Portuguese and American cuisine on the menu was both unique and delicious. The flavors were a perfect marriage of both cultures.
The ambiance of the restaurant was also a standout feature. The cool artwork around the space added a trendy and modern vibe. It was a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.
I also want to give a shoutout to our waitress who provided exceptional service throughout our meal. She was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu.
Overall, I highly recommend Envy Bar and Grille for anyone looking for a unique dining experience in Newark. The food, atmosphere, and service all exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be returning in the future.
