Many people say it’s expensive, and I agree, it is. At the same time, they offer an unusual fusion menu with premium, hard to find ingredients, like scallops and nigiri made with rare types of fish, and those things come at a price.
You can also see how much thought the owners put into the design and ambiance, from the color palette to the premium hand cream in the restroom. Again, details like these cost.
The service was impeccable, the staff were very friendly, and we truly enjoyed both the food and our time there.

It had been a while since I’d been back in San José, and as soon as you drive along Avenida Escazú, there’s an imposing structure in the background that immediately catches your eye. That’s where Enzo is. I had heard about it before… about the quality of the food and the level of execution, but what struck me first was its look and feel.
The space is elegant, modern and full of character. From the moment you walk in, the experience feels different. The service is on another level: professional, warm, precise. You’re transported to a different version of Costa Rica which is already known for its hospitality, but here elevated into a refined blend of Japanese and Peruvian influences, subtle and confident, never overdone.
We started with the 12-sashimi combination: impeccably fresh, beautifully cut, letting the product speak for itself. Then we moved on to almost the entire nigiri and roll menu, and that’s where Enzo truly won us over. Every piece showed intention, balance and personality. The “tartufado” roll takes all the honors….. deep flavors, perfect texture and a memorable finish.
We didn’t make it to dessert this time, which remains a pending excuse to return, but what we saw coming out to other tables and more importantly, what we felt throughout the evening was exceptional.
Enzo isn’t just a new restaurant. It’s a serious, well-defined concept with international standards. We’ll definitely be back.

Overpriced and lousy service. They gave us snapper instead of tuna sashimi rather than tell us they were out of tuna. Octopus nigiri had good flavor but was minuscule in size and the rice was overcooked. We ordered a salmon roll as it was the only roll they had left when we went; it had a cas reduction or something and was far too sweet. I do hope they improve as it’s a really nice restaurant.

The restaurant it is amazing, very fancy, great location and unique style. The food it is the perfect fusion between Peruvian & Japanese food, very rich of flavor ,well balance and exquisite selection on the menu, that allows you to taste a little bit of everything, we had Pulpo al olivo (a little bit small for the price) ,Gyosas (very rich flavor),Ramen(big size, great prize and the pork it provides the perfect crunch and flavor,Maki acevichado (top) we saw a lot of people ordering the same so you can tell it is very popular, Maki Furai (the crunch and the sauce are very good) and Chaufa rice (great flavor). The staff it is very friendly overall. However, Carlos the chef it is TOP! He realized it was my birthday and he not only came out to say hi , but he also prepared a chocolate desert that looked so nice and so full of details that I didn’t want to eat it. The experience it is totally worth it and we hope to come back soon.

I had the pleasure of dining at Enzo with my Mom and my small service dog, it was absolutely one of the best meals I have had in Costa Rica. The obvious deep care in quality, visual presentation, the importance of layering flavor without any one taste overwhelming the experience. The server Harry is what made this experience flawless. His knowledge of each dish, his ability to describe in detail clearly each plate made this a 5 star experience for both of us. The chef and his team have crafted the star at the end of Avenida Escazu.

Enso was a big disappointment for us. We do not speak Spanish and asked if there was an English menu. The waiter told us there was not and walked away. When we politely asked for help translating the menu, he acted annoyed and showed zero interest in helping us.
His attitude was dismissive and unwelcoming. We ended up leaving, and no one followed up or showed any concern. In such a busy business area, basic hospitality and willingness to assist guests go a long way. Unfortunately we did not experience that here.

Impecable service – Creative & Fresh food- High end liquor selection – Beautiful decor – Nice location.
One of the best new places in The Central Valley.
I have eaten in a lot of high end restaurants all over the world. This deserves a merit, taking in consideration that Costa Rica is a small country.
I really recommend the Negroni.

I was genuinely thrilled to learn about Enso’s opening having heard that the head chef had cut his teeth at Maido and Central. Sadly the experience was awful.
To be charged 9,000 CRC for a small piece of snapper was inexcusable. Other dishes were also minute and largely underwhelming, only compounding the dreadfulness of the prices.
Beyond the cost, the execution was poor: the rice was overcooked, the service was sloppy, menu contained typos and the wait times between plates were erratic. I left feeling this was nothing more than an expensive tourist trap.

The service was excellent and the appetizer was truly amazing. Unfortunately, the main dish was overpriced and lacked flavor, which was disappointing compared to the strong start.
