I’m a long-time customer of Enrique’s, back to the first days when I was just a kid, enjoying snacks at their house and playing catch in their backyard. In almost all of the years I’ve eaten here, every meal has been superior! In fact, when I used to live here, I always took out-of-town visitors here to show off their food. Even after traveling all over the US and internationally, Enrique’s has always been in the top 5 out of all the restaurants I’ve ever eaten at!

However, after Enrique passed, the restaurant declined in quality. I’m not surprised, as he ran a tight ship, keeping the food hot and fresh, just as he wanted.

Today, though, after more of his relatives got involved in the restaurant’s operations, they’re back! Two excellent meals this week, just as I remember them from earlier days.

I ordered the Asado Cubano this evening, with hot shredded pork, rice with black beans, and fresh avocado with roasted veggies (they were out of plantains, unfortunately). My mother ordered the birrias, with cheese and seasoned shredded beef in mini tortillas, lightly pan-fried. Everything was served hot and fresh, and looked absolutely amazing. We dug right in, quickly clearing our plates, and left super happy.

I’m SO GLAD the quality is back! You’ll see that my plate was completely empty. I don’t usually see that in these reviews, so I thought I would share that so you’d know that you won’t leave here without being COMPLETELY satisfied with your visit! Go! Eat! Be happy! Don’t forget the chips! Probably the most memorable item on their menu. I didn’t review them because so many others have already raved about them in these reviews. They’re right!

I left 3 stars for the atmosphere because the lighting is super bright, too much for my taste. But seeing the runway right outside the windows is a cool feature of the location. So 5 stars for that!

If you haven’t been to Enrique’s in Ponca City, it is a fun place to eat! It’s located at the Ponca City airport and we happened to see a plane taxi by as we were there. They are known for their unique, house made chips and they are delicious! One Little had a kid burrito and one had kids nachos. Both enjoyed meal, and they really loved the chips. Mrs. Flip Out had the Asada Cubano dinner and said it was good. It was different than her usual go-to’s and it had good flavor. I had the combination dinner and everything was great. Definitely worth taking the time to eat here!

Great restaurant hidden at the local airport in Ponca City. Our server was friendly and quickly addressed any requests made during our meal. The food is delicious and include piping hot, freshly prepared chips with a twist as the chips are still puffy from the heat of cooking. The appetizer soup that cones with the lunch special is pleasantly spicy, filled with chicken chunks, vegetables, and rice. Thanks for a delicious and enjoyable lunch.

After a thrilling experience of flying through rough winds on our way here we thought we should go ahead and get something to eat. But my question is, would the fuel and time flying to Enrique’s all the way from Tulsa be worth it? Well, there is only one way to find out. When we got here we were greeted by a host where she quickly found us a table and arranged for a waitress to come and help us out. I asked for water and went to take a tour on my way to the bathroom. The bathrooms were clean but as always the urinals in the men’s bathroom have, and always will be a semi dirty area so no problem. Back at our table I asked for a Chile con Puerco lunch item served in a small bowl with rice and fried beans.. and corn tortillas. To my surprise the corn tortillas appeared hand made. The sauce and pork squares were amazing! Loved the tangy flavor along with some beans and put it all inside a beautiful corn tortilla. I guess the 50 buck of fuel and the 65 mile head wind we flew through were worth it!
I only have one small observation: your menu is too much it’s even hard to look at trying to decipher what it is that you sell. Pick your 20 most sell items and craft your menu around that. Make a page dedicated to your American options with clear options.

Thank you for the good food and service! We hope to come by more often!

****We come here often from OKC on the way to 7 Clans so I’m just going to keep adding little tidbits and more pics to this same review.****

Check the hours before coming. This is somewhat in between TexMex and Mexican. They bring salsa……but you do have to PAY for chips. Chips are homemade and not like corn tortillas. I recommend you ask for CRISPY. Chips are like thin sopapillas and are soft and floppy. Queso is not free. In my opinion, I think it’s better to get an order of nachos (again, CRISPY) instead of paying for chips and queso. They do not have a traditional sour cream sauce for enchiladas which is always a strike in my book. They do not offer shredded beef. We’ve been here a few times and have seen planes come and go but not this time so it’s not guaranteed. You can see the runway from your table inside the restaurant. All in all this is just an okay restaurant with okay food. No wow factor or flavor.
We tried these Dulce sopapillas this time and they are really good. And they had planes this time.

Outstanding Mexican/Hispanic food. I absolutely love this please. They have the best chips I have ever had. They are so good they do not come free. You have to pay for them, which is absolutely worth it.

Service is always fast and friendly, just like the rest of this great state.

10/10 I will eat at this business every time I come to this City.
This business is at/in the airport, which is strange, but it works!

I have never had a bad meal or bad service.

Spot on. This is a must have for us and it’s been a solid place both times. Last weekend, there was a reasonable wait to get a table so they are doing something right. Get you some of the puffy chips. Salsa is really good. You can build your own enchilada plate. Had the pork with the green chili sauce. Great plate. Have yet to have a bad experience. You should stop in, they even have plane parking.

Best Mexican restaurant in Ponca City. Food is always great. I spent more per person due to taking a couple things home. Their made fresh homemade chips are the best and different than anywhere else. The chips are fried fresh and they’re like a little pillow you can rip open and use as a scoop. Their salsa is the best anywhere and it’s got good heat to it that is perfect if you don’t mind a little kick. I’ll have to remember to add a picture after the next visit which will be soon.
