I had a great experience at Enkai! I tried the California roll, which was really good, and enjoyed eating outdoors. The drinks were good, and the service was great. Our server was super sweet and gave us great drink recommendations. The view of the yachts was an added bonus! I definitely recommend this spot for a nice meal with a lovely atmosphere.

We ordered the chaufa de mariscos and entreńa steak and it was delicious. The steak was soft and tender and seasoned well. The rice was one of the best seafoods rices I’ve had. They’re also very great with service my waiter was very sweet.

Needed a little snack before we got on boat.
I decided to try a couple of things. The squid salad is amazing, soft, and very tender. The spicy tuna roll is even better. And the red roe, tasty fresh delicious.
Everything was well prepared and the service was great with a smile, the way I like it.
A really cool little place on the Harbor, if in the area and craving sushi, go for it!

Had a terrible experience here: here for vacation, was told this was a good sushi spot in town by locals. Waited for moments with no host at the front. Went to sit down at the bar, as we we’re unaware of any type of seating policy due to there being no host, where we were rudely brought up from our seats and told to wait at the host dance with no host after the fact. We waited just for them to tell us that they had no more seats available when I looked around and saw five bar seats free and at least three other tables at the restaurant. Totally understand if you’re done for the night, but please use better verbiage and communicate to your guests if that is the case as we felt dismissed with no reason and made it feel like there were annoyed to even come and bring them business. My bad!

Yes, Yes and Yes!! 2nd trip to the island and restaurant this year, and it is as incredible as we remember! Delicious, fresh, reasonably priced food, great service by Chelsea, beautiful presentation, and picturesque atmosphere.Great experience all around.
We choose the Truffle Butter Edamame to start off the meal. It was incredible!! BOBBY ROD ROLL (tempura shrimp, scallion cream cheese, japanese mayo, avocado), STORM ROLL (tempura shrimp, japanese mayo, avocado, fresh tuna, six spicy & sweet sauces, topped with storm salad), and the SHAGGY DOG ROLL
( lobster, scallion cream cheese, garlic infused mayo, avocado, wrapped in crab, drizzled with bourbon street sauce, and scallions). For dessert, the TEMPURA DOUGHNUT with ESPRESSO ICE CREAM. We would order those exact options time and time again! Sooo delicious!
Total Bill was $76 before tip.

Sushi was fresh and delicious. We ordered 6 different rolls to go so can’t comment on the service. However we were told 40 minutes for our order but it was ready much sooner at about 25 minutes. Definitely recommend.

We slipped in just to take a look at the menu and were delightfully surprised that they have a vegan section on their menu!! They were able to fit us in for a nice late afternoon (3:30 pm) lunch/dinner. Our service was very good and the waitress was so attentive that she noticed we had ordered miso soup and explained that it had some fish base ( one of us is vegetarian and one person is vegan) so it was very helpful. Food tasted amazing and the presentation was impeccable. We ordered Tempura asparagus and two different vegan rolls. I highly recommend. The bill was reasonable $50 for two people. What a lovely view, atmosphere and experience.

Serious Review – Food Poisoning Incident
On Tuesday afternoon, I visited Enkai Sushi for happy hour around 4:30–5:00 PM. The restaurant was nearly empty—only myself, a family of three, and security were present—so there was no reason food shouldn’t have been prepared properly.
I ordered two sushi rolls (Bobby Rod, Rochester), a drink, and the Crab Rangoon appetizer. When the appetizer arrived, the inside was cold. My waiter, who was extremely patient and kind, had it refried. Shortly after, my sushi rolls arrived and looked appetizing as usual. However, minutes after finishing my meal, I began experiencing sharp, severe stomach pain.
By the time I got to my car, the pain intensified. Once home, I began vomiting and experiencing serious diarrhea. I’m currently eight months pregnant and have eaten cooked sushi throughout my pregnancy—including at Enkai—without issue. This clearly indicates a case of improper preparation or cross-contamination.
I went to the hospital, where I was diagnosed with food poisoning and advised to take over-the-counter medication for vomiting and diarrhea. The following day, I contacted the restaurant. The shift lead told me she informed the owner and that he would call me before leaving for St. John that day. I never received that call.
As of today, October 30th, I am still unwell and deeply disappointed by the lack of response or accountability. I will be contacting the health department, as cross-contamination in a restaurant is a serious food safety violation. Being eight months pregnant, this situation could have resulted in dangerous complications for both myself and my baby.
I’ve always enjoyed Enkai and appreciate their staff’s kindness—my waiter that day was excellent, and I still left a tip. However, this experience was deeply alarming and unacceptable. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures this never happens to anyone else.
Please be careful when dining here.

Sushi was excellent! Waitresses were friendly and attentive.
Place is very clean and was not busy when we went. The waitress recommended the appetizers that were still happening during happy hour, we only got the Crab Rangoons. Everything was very good and tasted fresh.
