Very cool and comfy spot downtown St James. Location is converted from an old bank. The vault door is still visible.
Coffee is decent! Definitely adds to the character of the downtown and is worth trying out.
They had food options which I did not try, having just come from a big lunch, but the barista said they had rotating seasonal specials that I’m sure were good.

Came by for a drink with our cat Amara in her backpack and the staff were so sweet and excited to see her. When we visited again, one of the employees even drew Amara on our cup lids—it made our day! Great service and such a fun experience.

On a road trip across the Mid-West, these Brits needed a break for a coffee. Pulled off highway into St James and found this lovely cafe. Very quaint including historic rest facilities and the original vault. Beverages most welcome.

I ordered catering for a large gathering of 25 people. Heather worked with me to curate a delicious menu to accommodate my guests’ dietary needs. We had rave reviews of their soup, sandwich and dessert offerings. Thank you Encore Coffee Cafe! We’ll be back!

My family and I moved here a few months ago and I was SO excited to see a cafe in town. It definitely did not disappoint! I’m picky with my coffee, and this is seriously the best place I’ve ever been too. Encore beats all of the major chains without a doubt. The baked goods are to die for, and Heather and her staff are super kind and helpful. I’d give more stars if I could!! ❤️

I love historic buildings with the unique details we don’t see in today’s architecture. I was expecting a “lunch-type” fair with soup, sandwiches, and salads, and that is what I found on the menu. I’ve been twice, ordered something different both times and enjoyed both meals. I also appreciate the gift store next door that I can wander around in while my food is being prepared.

I doubt I’ve had better coffee than this coffee shop. I’m dead serious. I live in Mpls and have traveled across the country – this place is a GEM. I’m not you’re average coffee drinker, I’ve grown up on homemade espresso drinks and my father roasts his own beans.
I love the flavor of this coffee. The espresso was strong but but bitter, the almond milk the was steamed to perfection. I love the Victorian era bathroom and decor too – so novel. If you’re passing through this place is a MUST-STOP, if you live in St James, I envy you. You don’t know what you have! Places like this are rare!

My husband and I just moved to town from Colorado and stopped in to grab a cup of coffee, the building is beautiful and the coffee is amazing! The owner was also kind enough to give us a recommendation to check out the bakery across the street since we’re new to town. Will definitely be coming back a lot!
