Overall, this is a nice place with genuinely friendly owners and staff. There’s a good selection of food and bakery items, with something for most tastes. The only downside for me is the music—it tends to be pretty loud. Turning it down a notch would make it a much better spot to relax with a coffee, a pastry, and a good book for people that want to enjoy the bakery / cafe aspect of the business.

Arrived for breakfast and decided to try tres golpes for the first time. I was expecting it to be a dish that the kitchen would prepare fresh to order, but apparently they have decided to add all the components to their cafeteria style serving area. While it probably doesn’t matter too much with regard to the salami and the mangu, but I do think getting fried eggs and fried cheese that aren’t made fresh to order and are just sitting in a warming tray is sub-optimal. Overall I would say everything tasted pretty good, and you do get a lot of food for under $10, but I will likely order something else next time.
Edit with re-score: I tried this place a second time and attempted the tripleta, and it just wasn’t all that great. They did fill it with a good amount of pernil, but it was very dry and sort of tough, which made the sandwich rather laborious to eat. There was a small amount of ham and an even smaller amount of pastrami (which was also dry). And I didn’t really love the bread either. You can tell it was pressed, but somehow the bread didn’t get crispy at all.

My boyfriend and I have come here multiple times since they first opened and used to really enjoy it. We spend a decent amount of money and usually buy a lot of food and bakery items. Our experience today to put it plainly SUCKED. We ordered 10 pizza empanadas, there were 6 old ones and my boyfriend asked for 10 fresh ones. The woman said that she would do that “no problem” and than gave us the 6 cold ones anyway. We also got a small order of maduros, which were cold. The person in front of him paid for $2 bills so my boyfriend asked if he could buy them, and she replied no rudely. (It wasnt the fact that she said no that’s the problem, its the attitude) Customer service is what sets establishments apart from others, and the customer service here sucks anymore. If you have a customer requesting that their $30 of food be hot and fresh, that should never be an issue. Especially since you have to make more to complete the order anyway. The food, and customer service was amazing at the beginning. Now the food is okay, and the customer service is awful. Today was the deciding factor that we will not be visiting encanto again.

It’s very bland and dark inside. The food is OK. The rice was hard and barely had any flavor. They had run out of rotisserie chicken so I got the stewed meat and there was so many bones I barely got anything to eat. Honestly drive 5 more minutes and go to Lelo’s. They serve way more food with actual flavor. They always have fresh food while the one here looks like they cooked it a while ago. Only gonna come back if I’m shopping next door. And even then I’ll hesitate.

This place has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem like the kitchen or management is taking customer feedback and using it to improve. The food is consistently cold and not visually appealing. You can honestly get better, more authentic Puerto Rican food at Coquí Bakery.
As a Puerto Rican customer, I was really disappointed. The pastelillos de pizza and other items taste like they were bought frozen from a store rather than made fresh. The inside is always cold, and you can physically see unmelted cheese. The chicharrón (pork skin) was rubbery instead of crispy like it should be.
On top of that, several employees didn’t know where their own products were, it took three different people just to find one sauce, which is frustrating and unprofessional. I would also strongly suggest raising the temperature on the display warmers, because every single time we’ve visited, the food has been cold, not even warm. When I asked for it to be heated, the employee reacted very poorly.
This business could be great if the kitchen and management actually paid attention to these repeated issues and made the necessary changes.

I went to Encantos just a few days ago. It was a wonderful serendipitous find because I was headed for Fancy Fruit and it was right there, next door. I just HAD to go in because of the bakeries first seen. As I entered I was hit by amazing scents of all their delicious food. The tastes were not disappointing as they were even better than they smelled. Terrific food, happy smiles, and less than anticipated costs, and if that’s not enough, they have a full bar off in the back of the store.

Always greeting you with the most beautiful smile. You can truly tell she loves what does and puts her heart into helping others. Encanto is lucky to have her, she makes every visit a wonderful experience!
