Reviews
Very attentive staff, Vanessa and Aracely were very friendly and helpful from the moment we entered the place.
We ordered The Mix plate and it was very tasty.
For sure we will be back soon!
We stop again on our way to the beach area.
The food still delicious as the first time we visited.
Service is excellent as usual.
Tasty Nicaraguan cuisine for sure!
Tostones were twice fried and served like they had been previously frozen and then fried frozen.
It tasted like they were catering to the community they’re in by changing some of the recipes up. I can’t fault them for that, but then I’d hope they’d say they were Nicaraguan fusion or something. The cacao was good. The tajadas weren’t great and there was no chilito. The Nicaraguan cabbage salad (ensalada criolla) was not vinegary at all. It was just cut cabbage and was missing the classic flavors of Nicaragua. I was really hopeful for this place, but it was a big miss.
Now, if you’re looking for a solid meal that is not Nicaraguan, then give this place a try. It’s a mix of Peruvian and Mexican flavors and it’s decent.
Pollo de Crema Jalapeño (chicken filet, Nicaraguan-style Jalapeno cream sauce, avocado, house rice, salad, tajadas), Unico Hibisco (hibiscus tea)
Encanta Latin Grill, a hidden gem taking over the former Country Burger, serves Nicaraguan cuisine. I was hangry for some different & ELG popped up when I did a “hot & new” search.
There wasn’t much posted & no website, so I was grateful for Harrison Y’s menu pics. I ordered the Pollo de Crema Jalapeño with a Unico Hibisco, & given a 20-min. pick-up time. I arrived a couple minutes early & waited another 10-mins; not sure of the delay since there’s no other customers except a pair of guys halfway through lunch.
The return trip to the office was quick so my lunch was still piping hot (temperature). The plate’s serving was generous & that jalapeño cream sauce sounded & looked interesting, but didn’t have too much chili heat. The Unico Hibisco offers a refreshing balance of sweet & tart to offset the heaviness of the chicken & cream sauce. I loved the tajadas (fried plantains), crisp crust & soft sweet banana interior. I ate the house salad first as it doesn’t pair well with the entrée & other side. The sauce is absorbed by the rice as well as adding flavor… nom, nom, nom. The Pollo de Crema Jalapeño tantalizes your palate with tender, savory, creamy goodness!
It’s a concentrated menu with offerings for all meal times: breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Price points are fair? I don’t have other local Nicaraguan restaurants for comparison, but the serving was generous so I had leftovers for a second meal. The dining room is spacious with mostly 2- & 4-tops. While there’s no signage, you can’t missed the bright light orange building with bright blue shingled roof. Since it’s not a shared space, there’s plenty of parking available no matter the time of day.
Service is friendly & accommodating, but there’s a slight communication gap due to their soft opening (my review is delayed… I dined here last May) & POS system set-up.
My first Nicaraguan venture & it was magnificent… run, don’t walk to Encanta Latin Grill!
Recommended: Pollo de Crema Jalapeño (get this yumminess!) & Unico Hibisco.
We ordered the Pollo Planchita (grilled chicken) and Pollo A La Colonia (fried chicken breast), both served with a generous salad, rice, and banana chips. The food was satisfying, with a taste and texture reminiscent of a traditional homemade meal, all at a reasonable price. Additionally, the restaurant offers plenty of free parking, which is a big plus.
We’re definitely coming back to taste the other dishes.
