It’s a chill spot with live music and a small view if you sit in the right spot. Free street parking. Mexican restaurants always start with free chips and salsa… this place does not disappoint. I had the tortilla soup (with potato), and my husband had chicken enchiladas. The food was good but a little small but do we need that much food? 🙂 A place I will visit again!

We had a great lunch of Chicken and Carne Asada Fajitas at En Fuego Cantina. Good location and the restaurant has two levels of what is similar to patio seating with awnings overhead rather than an enclosed restaurant. You have to hunt for parking on Camino Del Mar or park over a street in the neighborhoods for easier parking. We had lunch at about 1 pm on a Sunday and they were understaffed as they appeared to only have one waitress working on the top floor and it took about 15 minutes to get our order in. They had an excellent bus boy that kept our chips full and water while we waited to order. The waitress was super polite and apologized for the delay. One thing I did not like is that the fajitas did not come with many tortillas and I asked for more and I got a $2 charge for 3 more corn tortillas. Overall the food was great, the decorations were nice, but they were understaffed and the service was slow but polite.

Great spot for happy hour and Mexican food. It’s get busy in the evening, so better to make a reservation.

In the vibrant heart of downtown Del Mar, this remarkable establishment boasts an exceptional indoor/outdoor patio. It was truly delightful as I indulged in a soy chorizo tamale accompanied by a side of their tantalizing queso caliente. Unlike the “stuff’ typically found in generic Mexican eateries, this queso had a distinct character reminiscent of a hearty broiled pub rarebit. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly endorse this venue conveniently situated just a stone’s throw away from the beach.

Delicious Mexican, friendly and professional staff, fast service, and Habanero salsa is a great kick on top of it.

Food was alright (Shrimp tacos). The shrimp Fajitas that my friend ordered looked really good. Service is not too pleasant. Parking can be hard to find during lunch time even on a weekday.

This place is worth visiting! The food is fresh, delicious, and super affordable. The inside is decorated and does not feel like you are sitting next to the road. Staff was friendly and the service was quick. Will be going again!

I’ve been here a few times and am always disappointed. The food is mediocre and comes out cold. The drinks are average. The last time I was there it was happy hour. I asked the server for a happy hour menu but they don’t have one. He said margaritas were on special along with a couple of appetizers. I ordered a margarita then a second one right before happy hour ended. He forgot my second margarita and I had to remind him about it. When I got my bill I realized I was charged full price for both of them. When I asked about it he said I hadn’t specified I wanted the happy hour margarita which apparently wasn’t what I got. I had specifically asked him about the happy hour deals and he said margaritas were part of it not that it was a specific happy hour margarita. I thought it was implied that’s what I wanted after I inquired about happy hour. He refused to change the bill and I won’t be returning.

What a wonderful place with incredibly fun energy! The food was beyond fantastic and the margaritas are a reason in itself to go. The roof is open which made it so inviting on a gorgeous summer evening. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. En Fuego has mastered the art of Margaritas To Go so we grabbed a couple for the next day. Sooooo good! Definitely a spot to frequent often!

Good food ….. but when it was time to pay, they refused to split the check. We were a party of 11, and the manager refused to take 11 credit cards. We did not ask for separate checks, and were not trying to be difficult. Also, it was late on a weeknight and the restaurant was quiet. We just wanted each person to be able to pay an equal share. Apparently this is contrary to their policy, although the restaurant did not inform us of this policy when we made the reservation or when we were seated. They insisted on making their policy the customer’s problem.
